“This is so hard, but so fun!” Easily the most engaging game we’ve played this year, and learning all about Cuisenaire Rods through play. What could be better? @MsLSaly @BonaventurePS – at London, Ontario

I love the book, "Breathe Like a Bear" to bring small mindful moments into our day. Each page has a script with a breathing strategy or task that you can implement immediately! Plus, the illustrations are beautiful! @TVDSBLiteracy #TVDSBLiteracy . .
A few days late, but here is Day #1, #2, and #3 of the @TVDSBLiteracy "For the Love of Reading Challenge." Pic 1 - on my "to be read" pile. Pic 2 - something I loved to read when I was younger. Pic 3 - What I read aloud to my class today. #TVDSBLiteracy
Day 12 of the December Math Challenge had us talking about our favourite warm drinks! It provided great opportunities for visualization strategies! @tvdsbmathk8 @BonaventurePS
Thrilled to share that some of the work I completed as a research assistant @HBKidsHospital @theNOvELlab has been published in Brain Injury! Very relevant to education, addressing resources that exist for educators related to brain injury @TVDSB @TVDSBSafeSchool @BonaventurePS

We were excited to write some code for Day 9 of the December Math Challenge! We had lots of recent practice doing so with the Bee Bots from Resource Services. We applied a lot of the language & skills we learned from @MsRChanner to complete this task. @tvdsbmathk8 @BonaventurePS
As a primary educator, I find students enjoy the "Mouse Math" series. They're great books to inspire and model math thinking!
Day 8 of the December Math Challenge was very engaging! Most of my students had never tried a task like this and were excited and motivated to try to solve all three levels. It was a great opportunity to practice perseverance, as many found it tricky! @tvdsbmathk8 @BonaventurePS
Our class elf has been keeping busy when we're not at school! Baking cookies, re-reading stories, and trying yoga are a few of Buddy's activities 😀 @BonaventurePS
I wasn't able to complete Day 7 of the December Math Challenge with my class because I was meeting with my NTIP Mentor, but I heard from the supply teacher that my students LOVED the Esti-Mystery task! Thank you again @tvdsbmathk8 for creating such a great resource for us!

After we learn a new sound it becomes the “secret password” for entering the classroom, allowing for several extra daily repetitions. The kids ❤️ it - and don’t worry about the ones who forget; if they don’t copy the child in front of them I supply the sound for them to repeat.

Day 6 of the December Math Challenge was great! My class loved the open-ended question and enjoyed sharing their ideas with peers. Some great math language emerged as we talked about counting diagonal lines, triangles, and more. @tvdsbmathk8 @BonaventurePS
Day 3 and 4 of the December Math Challenge were a hit! We are loving these real-world math problems! Today’s problem provided a great opportunity to model using concrete tools to solve a word problem. @tvdsbmathk8 @BonaventurePS
Today we completed Day 2 of the December Math Challenge @tvdsbmathk8! My class LOVED the WODB activity. Look at all the participation! After sharing our ideas, we voted on which snowman we would choose if we could only choose one. Snowman B got the most votes!
My class is very excited about the @tvdsbmathk8 December Math Challenge! We had a lot of fun completing Day One! Lots of great thinking! Not pictured: students using math tools to solve 🙂
