A "gut-wrenching" day spent shadowing students led researchers to conclude, "school was such a lonely experience for far too many.”
Find out how coaches can play a role in driving engagement.

SUCCESS is often measured by comparison to others. EXCELLENCE, on the other hand, is all about being the best we can be and maximizing our gifts, talents and abilities to perform at our highest potential. Pursue excellence today.

Culturally responsive teaching is "about engaging the brain’s memory systems so we’re creating lessons that lean into students’ cultural traditions and values." Try implementing it in your classroom this #HispanicHeritageMonth.

Instruction for
English Learners/Multilingual Learners is most effective when language is infused and amplified throughout rather than a sidenote or afterthought.

A3. “People do what people see “. If the adults stay positive, focused on learning and supporting each other then so will the kids. #celebratED

I have seen schools use tiers for addressing discipline and even say “tier 3 students”, an rj practice that is oppressive. How do we create spaces of healing and liberation for ALL students? What does this look like when harm has happened and repair/healing is needed?

Here’s an analogy about intent. If I enter a building & don’t see you behind me & don’t hold the door, it’ll slam in your face. I didn’t mean it, but I see it hurt you & I feel bad, so I say sorry. Maybe the incident even teaches me to be more aware next time. #Microaggressions

Ramadan Mubarak to all who celebrate ✨
In honor of the start of #Ramadan, a look at this stunning #mihrab, or prayer niche.
One of the earliest, finest examples of mosaic tilework, it was made by joining cut glazed tiles to produce intricate arabesque and calligraphic designs.

ALT A stunning, elaborately tiled mosaic niche featuring bright blue, dark blue, light blue, light brown, and white tiles cut into a variety of shapes and star patterns. Along the wide border along the wall large white Arabic script. Script also appears on the border of the niche itself, as well as in a rectangle in the middle of the inset niche area. Other pieces of artwork hang on either side of it in The Met's Islamic Art galleries.
