3 Young riders stopped and spoke to our #OpBrookdale patrols in Sefton. Out for a sunny ride, they were keen to learn more about @MsideBikesafe which is great to see. Bikers talking to bikers is a great way to learn.

Education and enforcement are two of the ways we try to make the roads safer for everyone. @MsideBikesafe is just one way we do this. We hope that by engaging with riders we can make them safer, more confident and happy road users.
Great interaction from attendees & Officers ... brews, biscuits & biking ... what's not to like?
Starting off with a classroom input this morning @MsideBikesafe @BikeSafeUK

You were quite right there Sallyanne ... we often say you are never too good to learn something new (or thought you knew) on 2 wheels - Its true. A great Day1 of our 2 day workshop with key inputs and an observed ride with @IAMRoadSmart & @RoSPA colleagues tomorrow.
Well said ...
@BikeSafeUK can help riders understand key risks

80% of serious 🏍 crashes can be avoided; even when it’s not the 🏍 fault @DocBikeUK research suggests -if the rider understands why bikes crash & what to 👀 out for. The @DocBikeUK charity exists not only to provide lifesaving care but also to help bikers avoid being in a crash
Following great Day1 yesterday.. Day2 of Merseyside Bikesafe Bridging The Gap workshop today. Despite wide range of riders experience, all learning lots from our Observers.

Looks good on that video but is it as noticeable in a car's rear view mirror?
Genuine question, not trolling.
Always our pleasure @Chrisphoto1300 ... there’s always something you didn’t know or were doing you can improve on. Learning never stops and we keep seeing so many riders who would really benefit ....
M56 jctn 14 Helsby/Frodsham incidents. Heavy standing/very slow traffic. Both directions. Adjacent routes also congested. Avoid if you can. Bikers if you are filtering through, take it steady.

With so much surface water around after storms, aquaplaning is possible.
Aquaplaning is when your tyres are unable to cut through surface water & momentarily lose contact with the road surface.
Reduced speed & good tyre tread & pressure will minimise the risk.

⚠️ Contractors are currently attending to remove the debris and this should take approx 1 – 2 hours. Motorists are being advised to avoid the area and take alternative routes. (2/2) ⚠️

⚠️ Travel update 10 Sept: a large section of sandstone has fallen on to the carriageway on A540 Telegraph Road. A full closure has been requested between Thurstaston roundabout (near the Cottage Loaf) and Caldy roundabout. (1/2) ⚠️
No matter where you go .... if you leave your bike, lock it.
Preferably chain to something substantial. Glad they didn’t get this one.
These are getting more and more regular but it goes to show that your bike isn't safe anywhere (middle of the Yorkshire dales).
@thedandybiker was lucky and had The Boss to save the day.
