Masked Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian villagers on Friday, setting olive groves on fire and slinging rocks. Caught in the attack was Post photographer Heidi Levine. “They just kept kicking me and kicking me, like probably 50 times,” Levine said. wapo.st/4yt6dHY

For more than two months, I have been working on a truly horrific story about one of the gravest war crimes committed by the United States since Vietnam: The bombing of the Shajareh Tayyebeh school in Minab, Iran. It was one of the first targets struck in the opening hours of the war on February 28, 2026. At least 156 people were killed in the U.S. cruise missile strikes—120 of them were children and 26 were teachers. We spoke to survivors, first responders, parents, doctors, teachers, psychologists, and other witnesses. Some of them had never before shared their experiences of that day. It would be impossible to do justice to what happened in Minab that day with words alone. In more than 25 years in journalism and reporting on war, I do not believe I have reported on a more heinous single crime. Massacre at Minab: The School That Became a Grave dropsitenews.com/p/minab-sch… Please share this story with as many people as you can.

Exile is not safety. Authoritarian regimes’ reach does not end at Europe’s borders. #Tajikistan #WLC #TransnationalRepression
Meet Muhamadjon Kabirov — a Tajik journalist and human rights defender committed to press freedom, democratic reform, and exposing corruption. As Editor-in-Chief of @AzdaTv, an independent Tajik-language news network based in Poland, he continues to provide a platform for independent reporting and voices often silenced by repression. A former Reagan-Fascell Democracy Fellow at @NEDemocracy and investigative fellow with OCCRP, @MuKabiri has investigated corruption within Tajikistan’s political elite while advocating for political prisoners and refugees. Wanted by Russia and reportedly targeted in an assassination attempt linked to the Tajik regime while in exile, he continues his work despite the risks of transnational repression.

The harassment faced by @maradiaga, President of the World Liberty Congress, is not an isolated incident — it is part of a broader pattern of #transnationalrepression. Authoritarian regimes no longer limit persecution within their borders. They pursue, intimidate, and attempt to silence democratic leaders even in exile. This is the reality many freedom fighters face: harassment, provocation, and coordinated attacks beyond the frontiers of autocracy. At the World Liberty Congress, we stand in full solidarity with our President Félix Maradiaga and all those targeted for defending democracy. Repression may cross borders — but so does our commitment to freedom.
