People refer to different things & have different intentions in mind with the term “Mawlid”: Sirah lecture gathering, reciting salawat, reading a Sirah book, being internally happy, nashid gathering, decorations, marches, birthday cake, street party...One ruling does not fit all!

Food was not a large part of the life of the Prophet (may Allah bless him and give him peace) and those of his companions as compared to our time.
They ate to live and did not live to eat.
I returned from South Africa, after spending 12 amazing days in the company of Shaykh Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani (hafizahullah), and the local scholars and Muslim communities. A lot of positivity, goodness, and Baraka was generally felt Al-hamdulillah.

Al-hamdulillah, I landed last night in Johannesburg (South Africa). This morning at fajr time, we received our beloved teacher Shaykh Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani (May Allah protect him) at Johannesburg airport. We are here till Tuesday, after which we visit Durban & Cape Town.
