Never mind the Metro being 25 years in the planning.....I'd take a urban light rail service that runs more frequently than every 23 mins in, checks notes, the rush hour window.

If @DubCityCouncil axe the name Herzog from the park in Rathgar, it will go down as a decision of extraordinary pettiness and cruelty. It achieves nothing but hurt among Dublin’s tiny Jewish community, who are blameless in all this. Government should step in here @JamesBrowneTD

Financial conversations are so different in the UK. We need an ISA type product and access to ETFs without deemed disposal. Having said that our pension structure is great.

The more time I spend in Luxembourg the more I worry about the lack of Irish urgency on infrastructure. No metro in Lux but an above ground tram from the airport. Delivered in short order...oh and all public transport is free (and very clean).

It all started from Valentia Island! On July 13, 1866 the cable laying ship Great Eastern (built at Burrells Wharf E14) sailed out of Valentia Island, Ireland and on July 27 landed at Heart's Content in Newfoundland, completing the connection. @adrianweckler @jamesplloyd
AWS CEO Matt Garman just told me he + tech giant are “excited” about landing the cable in Cork. Not sure he means Cork, really, or whether he’s aware of the culture war he’s entering here.

Found in some paperwork today - we are over 9 years on.

It is not a good vibe to be getting corporate travel alerts before flying back into Dublin. Strange times. Home to vote!

Am I the only one who checks private jet regs to see who is about? - "Blue Horseshoe loves Anacott Steel" (as it turns out it is one of the Ryanair fleet they use to get parts and mechanics around quickly). M-ABTE for the curious.

Upgraded to @revolut Ultra. Not sure what that relevance of any domestic banking provided is to me going forward. Super package of benefits.

Great to see Joan, our superstar @MonkstownETNS administrator out pressing for pension parity. @CarrollJennifer @CormacDevlin. Well done @jerrybuttimer for your engagement in Douglas where my nephews are in school. We may have waste in the system - pension parity is not it!

The Carnegie Library is now being used by @myIADT and looks beautiful inside They are programming a lecture series starting in Sept that will be open to the public and will use it as a research hub. Its great to see more students in the town, the more links we have with IADT the better!

I'm in an above ground tram (free too) to the airport in Lux. We have the route in Dublin and if we were focussed it could be done in under 24 months. Why is Ireland incapable of delivering basic infrastructure? The Luas is 20 years old and still has a very limited in network.

I've been through more than my fair share of stock market crisis. Global markets trillions down to sort a 1trln deficit is a doozy but stay investing folks - it is a long term game to retirement.

Great to wave at @basispointIRE and @IrishFunds stalwart @LeinsterAdvisor across a crowded Dublin airport gate area. I'm Luxembourg bound....Declan to Portugal - I have to revisit my life choices!
