HR Manager: “Your salary will be delayed until next month.”
Employee: “Sorry, what? Why?”
HR Manager: “There’s an issue with payroll. Management is aware.”
Employee: “But my salary was supposed to come in today. I have bills to pay.”
HR Manager: “I understand, but there’s nothing I can do.”
Employee: “Can I at least get something in writing?”
HR Manager: “We’ll send an email when everything is sorted.”
The employee returned to his desk, disappointed.
He had been counting on that salary to pay his rent, clear a loan, and send money to his family.
Three days later, his manager called him into the office.
Manager: “Why haven’t you completed the new project?”
Employee: “I’ve been working on it, sir.”
Manager: “Then why are you asking for an advance?”
Employee: “Because my salary hasn’t been paid.”
Manager: “That’s not an excuse. Everyone is working despite the situation.”
Employee: “I understand, sir. But I have responsibilities outside this office.”
Manager: “We all do. I expect the project to be completed by Friday.”
The employee nodded and returned to his desk.
That evening, he received an email from HR.
Subject: Salary Payment Update
“Please be informed that salary payments have been temporarily delayed due to administrative issues.”
He saved the email.
The following morning, he received another message from his manager.
Manager: “I need you to attend a meeting with HR at 10 a.m.”
He had no idea what the meeting was about.
When he arrived, HR was already waiting.
HR Manager: “We’ve received a complaint about your attitude toward management.”
Employee: “My attitude?”
HR Manager: “You’ve been asking too many questions about your salary.”
Employee: “I’ve only asked when I’ll be paid.”
HR Manager: “You need to understand that the company is going through a difficult period.”
Employee: “I do understand. But I still have bills to pay.”
Manager: “We need people who are committed to the company.”
Employee: “I’ve been working without my salary for three weeks.”
Manager: “And we appreciate that.”
Employee: “Then why am I being called here instead of being paid?”
Nobody answered.
HR Manager: “We’ll discuss this further.”
The employee left the meeting wondering how asking for his own salary had become a disciplinary issue.
But the following Monday, something happened that changed everything.
His manager called him into the office again.
Manager: “We need to talk about your performance.”
Employee: “What about it?”
Manager: “You’ve failed to meet several targets.”
Employee: “Which targets?”
Manager: “We’ll go through them in the meeting.”
The employee opened his notebook.
He had been keeping records of every missed payment, every email, and every instruction.
He knew something was wrong.
And this time, he was prepared.
Manager: “You’re asking to transfer to another branch?”
Employee: “Yes, sir. If possible, by the end of this month.”
Manager: “You’ve worked here for six years. You’re one of our most trusted employees. Why would you want to leave?”
Employee: “I need to be closer to my mother.”
The manager leaned forward.
Manager: “Is she ill?”
Employee: “She’s getting older. My younger brother called me last week. He said she had been asking when I would visit again.”
Manager: “When did you last see her?”
The employee looked down.
Employee: “Eight months ago.”
The manager was surprised.
Employee: “Every time I planned to visit, something came up. A meeting. A deadline. A client who needed me. I kept telling her I’d come next month.”
He paused…………………

The Woman Who Stayed When He Had Nothing
A young man fell deeply in love with a woman.
When they first met, he had no money, no stable job, and no clear direction in life.
But the woman believed in him.
She encouraged him when he felt like giving up.
She celebrated his smallest achievements.
When he couldn’t afford expensive dates, she was happy to sit beside him and share a simple meal.
Years later, the man became successful.
His business grew. His income increased. People began to admire him.
One day, a friend asked him,
“Now that you have money and can marry almost anyone, why are you still with the same woman you dated when you were broke?”
The man laughed.
“Because you are looking at the woman standing beside me today, but I remember the woman who stood beside me when there was nothing to stand beside.”
His friend said nothing.
The man continued,
“When I had no money, she gave me her time.
When I doubted myself, she gave me confidence.
When I failed, she reminded me that failure wasn’t the end.
She never made me feel worthless because I was struggling.”
He paused before adding,
“Now that I have something, why would I abandon the person who believed in me when I had nothing?”
That evening, he went home and found his wife preparing dinner.
He hugged her from behind and whispered,
“Thank you for believing in the man I was becoming.”
She turned around and smiled.
“I didn’t know how successful you would become. I just knew I loved you.”
He held her closer.
“And that is why, no matter how far I go, I will never forget where we started.”
Never allow success to make you disrespect the person who loved you before the world had a reason to admire you.
Money can attract new people, but loyalty reveals who truly loved you.
And if someone stood beside you during your hardest days, don’t make them beg for a place in your happiest ones.

1,000 MW Solar Power Project in Northern Nigeria: PICTT Chairman Outlines Key Progress
Dr. Mohammed Dahiru, chair of the Presidential Committee on Technology Transformation Implementation (PICTT), explained the steps President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration is pursuing for the 1,000-megawatt solar electricity project in Northern Nigeria.
During a conversation with Symfoni, he mentioned that the plan includes a 500-megawatt energy storage system and efforts to secure financing from the U.S. EXIM Bank.
Once complete, the project should improve power supply for farmers, small businesses, and industries while reducing dependence on generators and fuel costs. @FriendsOfBAT @OgbeniDipo @woye1
