Best anecdote in Carol Thatcher's book about her father is when Sir Denis boarded a train at Paddington in which the only empty compartment was reserved for Rosewood Psychiatric Hospital.
Denis travelled alone and in comfort as far as Reading when "all these chaps piled in", accompanied by a male nurse, who counted them before the train moved off.
'One, two, three, four ... who are you?"
"I'm the Prime Minister's husband."
"Six, seven, eight, nine..."

When people say “this isn’t Man United”, what they’re really saying is that it isn’t Fergie’s Man United. They’ve been shit now for 13 years since he left and they were shit for 25 years before he joined

The beach ball did it for me. We were so up at half time - and then we weren’t

Sat on the match bus back to town dumbfounded at what I’d just seen
I’ll never, ever forgive them for this. 3-0 up at half time. Needed a win to get promoted. You can guess the rest. It’s why I love them and always will.
We’re heading back to May 1989 – almost 40 years ago, when Manchester City did things the hard way!
City have just thrown away a 3-0 half-time lead against Bournemouth, putting their hopes of returning to the First Division after a two-year absence in serious jeopardy.
We catch up with injured goalkeeper Andy Dibble immediately after the final whistle as he shares his concerns, while former City manager John Bond candidly predicts that the Blues won’t win promotion, with just one game remaining.
Pure 80s City – chaotic, unpredictable and never dull!
A wonderful insight into a very different era of football.

Remember I was first to tell you.
Manchester United haven’t been able to win the league or anything of any significance since they haven’t been able to buy it. The day they couldn’t financially bulldoze every other team in Europe was the day the roof started leaking apparently. Now it’s an even playing field they are done
PARKLIFE!
A blood-letting of unprecedented scale in the Stretford End in that second-half.
“Sell United and fuck off home.”
“You can stick your new stadium up your arse.”
Bonfire chant for Glazers + Jim Ratcliffe.
Jason Wilcox also a target.
Players booed.
