This is an interesting hat for a guy with two young kids to wear to the zoo, but I guess it does have an animal on it.

One of the greatest crimes of our lifetime.
Obamacare was a giveaway for some lower income people who could qualify for Medicaid, but a disaster for the middle class. The people who said it was a Trojan horse for a single payer system may have been right - it may have been designed to make the system so expensive that everyone would want Medicare for all.
Airbnb vs Uber is an interesting comparison. Uber* is good** because driving a car from point A to point B doesn’t require particular skills. The app/network is the value add over taxis. A hotel operator is better at hospitality than someone with an investment property.
I’m usually not a fan of @AdamSchiff but I’m glad he came out to a pumpkin patch today to visit his constituents.
It is nice to see justice done here, but I'd personally like to see more white collar prosecutions of smaller dollar frauds targeting middle class people. A fifteen thousand dollar fraud would hit an ordinary family harder than a fraud like this. Less sexy for a USAO to prosecute, but should be higher priority.
In 2022, a fraudster stole $1 million from us with a fake land deal. He was very convincing, and my team and I were doing a lot at once and got tricked. In July, a federal jury convicted him of wire fraud and money laundering. Today he was sentenced to 41 months in federal prison, the top of the guideline range.
It's not fun to lose money, but I’ll be fine, and we learned how to be more careful next time. Many other fraud victims won’t be fine, and every conman who walks free goes hunting for his next mark.
We have real problems with law and order in this country. Justice still exists, though, and criminals need to know they WILL be caught and punished.
It's a "white-pill" when you see the system working.
Thank you to the FBI, the prosecutors, the team at Jackson Walker, the jury of my fellow citizens, and Judge Pitman for getting this right. 🇺🇸
The two states in America that have the strongest and most cohesive identities are New Jersey and Florida.
Video captured the tense moment a New Jersey mayor charged toward a resident in the middle of a township council meeting, forcing several people to intervene.
Mayor Matthew Bianchini of Pemberton Township admits he lost his temper, saying: "I just basically snapped."
The mayor claims the confrontation was prompted by disrespectful comments the resident allegedly directed at the mayor's wife and daughter, which the resident denies.
The resident is seeking criminal charges and has called for the mayor to resign, while the mayor is defending his actions despite acknowledging he crossed a line.

this is always how the parasites defend their asset seizure: average joe, the middle class, poor kids. but none of these people are getting paid. your wealth will be seized and given to criminals, illegal aliens, and ro khanna's friends. suffering will increase. he won't care.
Voting in California is a depressing experience.
If I were homeless , some "community organizer" could take my ballot, write an X on the signature line, and then sign it.
Then there's the ballot. A million tax and spending measures. Scott Wiener being the lesser of two evils.

I would sincerely love our Council to take a minute to imagine a person who lives in DC, has a job, is a net fiscal contributor, and doesn't commit crimes.
What have you done over the past year to improve the life of someone like that? What will you do next year?
The Indiana ACLU has seen a mass resignation of attorneys with a cumulative 50+ years of experience. Why? Its incoming leader seems more focused on "current thing" than protecting civil liberties. Also, questioned the "objectivity of ACLU attorneys who are Jewish." Delightful!

California hasn't built its bullet train because the state has required 130,000 pages of environmental reports, making absurd demands like:
• counting bumblebees one by one
• rebuilding woodrat stick huts
• hiring specialized dogs to sniff lizard scat

Yes. Cost of living gets so much attention because health insurance is a mortgage payment now. A huge tax. That’s why gas prices and food prices seem so high. You are squeezed at top line income by Obamacare.

My "catastrophic" insurance is coming in at almost $2,000/mo for a family of 5, 2 adults, and 3 little kids. This is getting out of control.
Based on my experience as an employment lawyer on both sides of the V, if you’re terrible but nice, you can probably hang on for a while, but if you’re mediocre and highly disagreeable or otherwise unlikable, goodbye.
Barilla is terrible, but otherwise, this is sadly true. Making pasta can be fun though. Homemade pasta made by someone who really knows what they’re doing is one of the best foods there is, but the learning curve is very steep.
