Transparency matters. That’s why we’re moving to a single, public register so Australians can see who really owns and controls our companies. A clearer picture means stronger accountability and less room for financial crime ministers.treasury.gov.au/mi… #auspol

Innovation isn’t just about traditional breakthroughs, it’s also about broadening who gets to be a founder. Closing Australia’s innovation gap means more women and diverse entrepreneurs turning ideas into enterprises. My @SmartCompany op-ed: andrewleigh.com/opinion_piec… #auspol

Glad to see the focus. Reform the SIV to factor in innovation. The people at UTS can help you @AlboMP talk to @Murray and unlike the VC constraints so anyone can be one.

"You can't improve what you don't measure" is a truism in the startup industry. If you're in the Australian startup industry, I can't overstate the importance of taking a few minutes out of your day to answer a few questions in the startupmuster.com/ annual national survey.

Our ecosystem needs more people like @AnnieLiao_2000 in it to succeed. What she's created at Build Club is nothing short of amazing.
Hi Tracey, I'm the founder of @the_builderclub pictured here. I agree that more can be done and I am personally always try to do better to support this but do also want to provide a more complete picture of what has happened. I am going to stand up for myself and what we have built too. - build club is one of the most diverse and inclusive grassroots communities out there and i've always placed a emphasis on this from a personal mission standpoint. we have a tight knit women in ai club and have run mini initiatives like intimate dinners but we don't publicize them. tldr, I feel this picture doesn't represent us - for this accelerator in particular, it was a pipeline issue not selection bias, we only had 3 predominantly women team apply. Only one was not accepted on a merit basis as they were not sure about committing to their startup. I extended applications for 1 week and stayed up post 12am to try find candidates - 5/7 of the judges on the evening were women, and some of the most amazing leaders I know. - 2/5 of the teams flying to SF are women led or have women in their core team (the picture above was not representative of this and cropped) build club is one of the most inclusive communities out there and as a solo women founder it also hurts me to see it portrayed this way. I'm supportive of the cause but also want to share my side of this and hope you can understand. I am actively working on this too and would love any support and to see how we can work togetheršŸ’œ Here are more pictures from the night:
