New Book Chapter "The White Hand of Moses as a "Clear Sign": The Reception of Exodus 4 and 7 in the Qur'an" by Kate Tinson in "The Reception of Exodus Motifs in Christian, Jewish, and Islamic Writings"

One of the Quran's essential elements of morality is it's disdain towards religious exclusivism. The Quran in many places Consciously Edits and removes religious exclusivism from the prior scriptures as it views it as a corruption the Israelites invented so it would appear that God favored them. The Quran denies any such claims.
Here is a very simple example with Moses and Pharaoh discussing lord of all worlds vs god of the Hebrews.

I appreciate this. It is important to note that the bar to proving plagiarism is high & not so easy to meet. Similarities between two scholars' arguments could happen due to a variety of reasons such as drawing on the same set of evidence, especially if as in this case they're

Dear Mehdy Shaddel,
I would like to apologize to you for making such an accusation. This was a very foolish claim by me. At the time, I found the similarities between Gobillot's argument and yours to be very similar to the point you guys were making essentially the same argument. But as you point out this ultimately derives from the fact that you both are pointing out parallels from the text you are both finding parallels in, that is, the Pseudo Clementine Homilies. And people can independently come to the same reasoning and conclusions
I know it can be difficult when some anonymous user online accuses you of plagiarism and your peers also use this website, so again i would like to reiterate I am very sorry for this accusation.
THIS is not an exaggeration. I think I just found out the true meaning of surah 2:102.
If you don't know, Gobillot, interprets surah 2:102 to be about the punishment of Babel and the confusion of languages.
However I decided to do a little research on this topic and see if there are any pre Islamic parallels to this and Augustine makes this EXCAT same argument in his writings and says the translations of scripture has caused the "sin of discord among men"
Arabic similar to
(يُفَرِّقُونَ بِهِۦ بَيْنَ ٱلْمَرْءِ وَزَوْجِهِۦ ۚ)
and compares this to the punishment upon babel.
This is further evidenced by Surah 2:104 corrected a mistranslation of Hebrew into Arabic.
Did Augustine just confirm Gobillot's reading of Quran 2:102?
(this is from On Christian Doctrine (Book II) by Saint Augustine, Chapter 4-5)
@MayShaddel @PhDniX @KhalilAndani curious of your guys' thoughts on this? you guys are more well informed than me
an essential read on this

I have grown very interested in medieval Islamic artworks of Aisha (رضي الله عنه), mother of the believers, and found some depictions of her online.
Interestingly, she is a fully grown woman in all of them.
If anyone knows and works about depictions of Aisha in Islamic artwork I would love to know.
I’m seeing a lot of people In Academia give this translation of the Quran very positive comments so I’m going to read it.
Any thoughts on this translation? is it accurate?

Dear Chonkshonk,
It's a well known secret in the Academic field you are a closeted Christian polemicist who takes fringe views in Biblical studies to support your own religious Dogmas and then proceed to critically read the Quran and then pretend to be a bastion of intellectual honesty.
The only one who should be worried about credibility is you. But then again you have none at all.
I tried to be very respectful to you, but this comment has seemed to severe that tie. Quite unfortunate really.
Gabriel Reynolds masterfully demonstrates how the Quran emerges from a Christian Arabia because of using Christian New Testament language such as the "twinkling of an eye" from Saint Paul
Just a reminder, whenever anyone reads Gabriel Reynolds' works, Gabriel Reynolds was appointed by the pope himself to engage in interfaith Catholic-Muslim dialogues.
Perhaps my favorite Orientalist out there and he is an extremely smart guy.
on a side note, you guys should really read his work on who Uzair is. solves that issue as well

I can definitely argue it better than them both i came to the same conclusion many years ago that this is an avenue.
Dr Zinner tried to say that somehow these jewish christians still believed they were from God despite believing they are false passages. Which was very unconvincing. This is my response to him here
Btw Zinner believes the Quran knows the Torah and Gospel TEXTUALLY as well as the languages they were circulating in besides Arabic.

Honestly, I was very shocked by this. Shaddel was very clear and concrete about this, and he was going to write an article with Holger Zellentin about tahrif and the ps-clementine literature. But it seems he changed his mind and Zellentin will probably be writing it himself.
