We were delighted to join in the celebration of the Mathare partnership. Today, we recognized the efforts made by various youth, community-led groups, networks, and organizations. Mto Wangu Initiative, SDI Kenya, and Muungano wa Wanavijiji have been at the forefront of responding to disasters such as floods caused by climate change and the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as supporting youth in reclaiming green spaces within Nairobi’s informal settlements. With support from the High Commission of Canada in Kenya and UN-Habitat, we reaffirm our vision of inclusive cities, where slum dwellers have access to land, housing, and essential services. #MakingSlumsVisible #inclusivecities
