CSMIA Terminal 1 To More Than Double Baggage Reclaim Capacity
Mumbai Airport’s redeveloped Terminal 1 is planned to feature 11 baggage reclaim belts, compared with five currently.
The upgrade is part of Adani Airports’ wider effort to improve passenger convenience and terminal efficiency.

Adani-operated CSMIA has unveiled artistic impressions of a fully redeveloped Terminal 1, replacing the ageing structure with a modern passenger-focused gateway.
The plan includes higher capacity, smarter passenger movement, upgraded safety and a completely new architectural identity.

Mumbai's gateway is preparing for a future demanding greater capacity, better safety and a world class passenger experience.
Terminal 1 at CSMIA, commissioned in 1964, is planned for complete redevelopment after independent audits highlighted structural and safety concerns.
The proposed design combines sunlit halls, indoor greenery, premium lounges, Mumbai inspired artwork and a giant flamingo sculpture.
The planned expansion is substantial: 33% more annual capacity, from 15 million to 20 million passengers; 109 check in counters instead of 74; 11 baggage reclaim belts; and 25 contact aircraft stands instead of 7.
Expanded security and modern e gates will make passenger movement smoother.
Demolition is scheduled for April 2027, with completion by December 2030.
Alongside NMIA, Mumbai is preparing for a new aviation era.

Is being controversial becoming more important than being constructive?
Sabeer Bhatia has spoken about India's GDP, criticised corporate India and proposed a 55% inheritance tax. These are serious subjects with real consequences for businesses, investors and families.
Yet the public conversation cannot stop at provocative statements. It needs data, clear definitions, exemptions and practical solutions.
If the intention is meaningful economic reform, the details should be just as loud as the headlines.

धारावी की जमीन महाराष्ट्र सरकार, BMC और रेलवे की है। अडानी नवभारत डेवलपर्स डेवलपर है, मालिक नहीं। घरों का आवंटन सरकारी सर्वे और नियमों से होगा।
पात्र परिवारों को पक्के कानूनी घर, बेहतर स्वच्छता और सुविधाएं मिलनी हैं। क्या आप चाहते हैं कि धारावी के लोग पुराने जर्जर हालात में ही रहें? विकास का विरोध करने से उनका भविष्य कैसे सुधरेगा?

Is the strategy now simple: criticise India's growth, target its prominent corporates, make a provocative proposal and wait for the headlines?
Sabeer Bhatia is entitled to his opinions, but so are the people questioning them. His Hotmail achievement deserves recognition, yet his later ventures and current economic arguments are also fair subjects for discussion.
If the goal is serious debate, bring facts and solutions. If it's only sound bites, people will notice the difference.
