ALT Create a plan. Decide how you will try to avoid or cope with potential triggers. Connect with other sober people in your life- they will know how you are feeling, and can help you to get through it. Keep your therapy sessions- although the holidays can be busy and stressful, it is important to make time for your regular therapy sessions, or meetings. Bring your own non-alcoholic beverages, or if you are comfortable ask the host to provide some.

ALT The lack of resources for those experiencing mental illness, combined with the stigma that exists can contribute to the large rates of unhoused people living with mental illness. It can be more difficult to get the treatment needed for someone to keep a job, which makes it difficult to afford housing. It's very important to educate yourself and spread awareness and spread resources for people who are unhoused.
