Chris Finch on the leagues efforts to slow down the amount of flopping
“Well, here’s what my take on it… I was all for the league cleaning up flopping, you know, when I heard they were going to do it… unfortunately I think the league has their own definition of what a flop is, which is needed but confusing when like you see a flop, everyone kind of knows what it is. It doesn’t really need to be overly explained. I think where they got it wrong is all these flops are coming on the defense and that’s not what the people want out of the game. They want the flops on the offensive players out of the game. You know, the league was very intentional about saying the fans didn’t want to see flopping but that’s not the flopping, they don’t care if a defender spills down and shouts. What they care is that the offensive players are baiting the game and falling down and getting unnecessary free throws. That’s what they care about because that’s not really in the spirit of what anyone wants to tune in and watch”

Tyrese Maxey had 18 points in the 4th quarter last game.
He had 17 points in the 4th quarter tonight.
Single-handedly willed the Sixers to a much-needed win.
Contrast this with Melo saying it aint his job. Hard not to love this kid
Hard to root for stars that don’t want to play defense. Just can’t legitimize spending a max contract on one way players.

History will look back and be like, “Yea, LeBron obviously beat Toronto.”
But Kyrie was gone.
The Pacers just went 7 against the worst Cavs team in five years…
Toronto had home court…
And it was a sweep. Nasty to watch in real time.

Oscar Robertson with his 1 ring (Kareem finals MVP) universally considered top 2-3, nearly tied with Jordan here as the GOAT bc he was the best all-around player ever
Then we let Jordan’s media team pretend a team accomplishment determines how good you are and now he’s forgotten

No team in NBA history has ever won a title with a player having a usage rate over 36 percent in the regular season. Luka's current usage rate is 42.4 percent, and his usage rate has been 36 percent or higher the last 4 years he played a full season.
Generally speaking, usage rate lowkey is a bigger indictment on front offices than it is on the player’s style of play
Great, get them all tf outta here.
