Santa Clara’s finest are ready, going in either direction. This a true Cover 2, but at Aiyuk’s arrival, it could rotate into zero coverage. Can Aiyuk, post catastrophic knee injury, still separate? We may find out later today. Btw don’t speed down Tasman this afternoon. Thank me later.
Police near Levi’s Stadium on the day Brandon Aiyuk is supposed to report with a warrant for his arrest active 💀

It's over.
For more than 50 years, California's Great America in Santa Clara, CA has been a place where the Bay Area comes together to play. Today, the park announced that the 2027 season will be its Farewell Season and final year of operation. Blog 🔗 bit.ly/4z6Ygsj

San Francisco is the new Austin. Texas was attractive because it was more conservatively governed. That's gone, and the pro-tech anti-crime moderates have tasted blood in California, having banned wealth tax and centralized mayoral authority. California is relatively optimistic.
Now that Texas is a blue state, we are going to have to hear about how Miami is the new Austin (which was the new San Francisco), but what I am really looking forward to is when Florida is blue and we will hear about how Nashville and Baton Rouge are the new San Francisco.

>Bauer >Went to Elon University Patriots in control.
Congrats to @spencerbauer44 on signing with the @SFGiants 🌁 Bauer went from UCF in 2025 to Indy Ball with the Sioux Falls Canaries this year, where he posted a 3.31 ERA with 37 strikeouts in 35.1 IP. After 8 months of training at Tread, all of it done 100% remotely, he went from 92 mph to 98 mph, a 6 mph jump that earned him an affiliate opportunity. 📈 #TreadFam

What's the issue here? That was a perfect pass.

Opposition to data centers is really, really stupid. Like this should make you have deep contempt for public opinion.
Here's the polling data 50% of data center opponents listed resource concerns as one of their reasons for opposing data centers Concerns about AI didn't even break 15% (Oddly, 14% of respondents don't have *any* reason for opposing data centers? They're just going by vibes?)

It's already hilarious enough that someone apparently told him to keep a close eye on Guam as a big electoral harbinger for the rest of the United States -- they also couldn't be bothered to do a quick wiki search, because Guam elects Republicans more often than not!

If the populist revolt against AI wins and we end up locking in our status quo of scarcity, menial labour, and the tyranny of aging and disease for the foreseeable future: I will never, ever forgive the tech leaders who dug our grave by posturing like comic book villains.
It is alarming to see how much anti-AI sentiment is gaining traction, and deeply regrettable, too. With this technology, we have the potential to change everything for the better, forever. Yet, in the comments sections here, I find myself debating the most trivial matters, as if the majority still fails to grasp the immense power and possibilities that AI brings.

Radlibs and DSAs are once again angry at Hakeem Jeffries for simply being the adult in the room. Exercising professionalism is unfortunately controversial in the age of braindead slopulism. The Dems' "bend don't break" coalition might just break now that MAGA is irrelevant.
Hakeem Jeffries on Morning Joe: The American people don't want us to get even. They want us to get things done on their behalf because life is way too expensive. We ran on affordability, we won on affordability, and now it's our job to govern on affordability.

Don't Alabama my California

You heard “heil trump heil victory” man— the real enemy is Thomas Massie & the faustian heroes are moderate machine democrats.
After last night, many are saying, often sarcastically, "woke is back!" The reality is that woke never really went away. That said, the most obnoxious aspects of woke will, in fact, be canned and stored in the cellar. For example, Blue Colorado seems to have narrowly passed a proposition banning transgender surgery for minors. More things like this will occur. What I do see as playing a major role in the next two years is "National Slopulism." Surprisingly, this is a countervailing force to polarization and partisanship. It is a left-right coalition that believes, 1) Israel is Hitler and committing a genocide; 2) The Epstein files haven't been released; pedophiles still reign in Washington; 3) Our support of Ukraine is a big reason for the price of eggs; Putin just wants peace! Yes, I might be describing their views a bit sarcastically; however, it is clear that they are 1) anti-Israel, maybe pro-Hamas; 2) anti-Ukraine, maybe pro-Putin; 3) carrying some baggage from QAnon; 4) vaguely populist and socialist with no good solutions. This is the Tucker-Hasan-Candace-Dugin coalition, and the slopulists are "beyond left and right" in a way that conservatives and liberals are not. Many are highly sympathetic towards "JD" Vance. Many have talked about a Third Party. And obviously, there are different factions and dynamics within this unruly coalition—but they agree on a remarkable number of things. I might even sympathize with some of the critiques of this grouping, though not with their solutions. My point is that there will be a Slopulist attack on the rational center of the American Empire. Trump, in many ways, invented this coalition; however, he will now be subject to their ire and probably brought down by it. Also, the degree to which this group is pro-Russia—and, in many cases, funded by the Kremlin—should not be underestimated. Wild times ahead!

This election really was the Revenge of the Normies. Everyone is voting for the Democrats; no one is going for Zucman-style wealth confiscation.
not only was california’s wealth tax rejected by voters, the *concept* of the wealth tax was *banned* by voters. eat shit, communists.

CA has all the right enemies. As long as DSA types and GOP shills hate this state, I am bullish. There is currently an opening for right-leaning Dems and Inds to exploit. Who knows, maybe one day CA will return the favor and Greyhound the druggies to Texas. Hinojosa can't say no!
