The conference in Tucson, Arizona renewed my faith in the work that we are doing.
9 years ago, our community learned of “Genx in the Cape Fear River”. We had no clue what Genx was, but our community sprung into action and demanded answers.
EPA plans to rescind/reconsider several PFAS drinking water protections. Those standards were developed following EPA's review of scientific evidence on PFAS. EPA plans to retain limits for PFOA/ PFOS, it is proposing to remove/reconsider protections for several other PFAS
Their research has answered deep burning questions in my soul and have allowed me to heal in my grief. I am forever grateful for their work and dedication to not only our community but to communities globally that are just learning about their own PFAS contamination.
Thanks to scientists like Sue Fenton, Jane Hoppin, Jamie Dewitt, Detlef Knappe, Scott Belcher we found the answers in their research. It’s because of these scientists we know now the harmful effects, and we know that PFAS passes from mother to child.
At the time I was a grieving Mother who had just a few months prior lost my son, Samuel.
Samuel did not develop his Kidneys, bladder or bowel and I had placenta problems. I wondered what were the health effects associated with Genx and if our water was safe to drink.

2007 I had brain surgery with Dr. Kenneth Casey, author of “Striking Back! The Trigeminal Neuralgia and face pain handbook”
He placed Teflon felt in between my Trigeminal nerve/arteries, this developed into Teflon granuloma. In his book he references this occurrence. @EWGPrez
