NETWORK mourns the passing of Sister Amata Miller, IHM, and gives thanks for her extraordinary contributions to our mission. A gifted economist and educator, she lent her expertise and her faith to the work of building a more just economy. We were lucky she served as NETWORK’s education coordinator and economic analyst in the late 1980s and early 1990s. We are grateful for her faithful witness and will strive to always carry her legacy forward in our hearts and actions.

Most of us are living paycheck to paycheck while food, rent, and health care keep getting more expensive. Republican lawmakers have made life harder and costlier for working families. 💸
Our 2026 Communities Over Billionaires zine breaks down how we fix it: Voting. It is how working families push back on an economy built for billionaires. 🗳️

We should all be able to access preventive health care and treatment for any health issues that arise, without delays due to financial concerns. NETWORK Advocates’ issue handout “Health Care for All” details how rising healthcare costs are impacting communities, and how we can see each other’s health care needs, and be ready to vote for leaders who prioritize the health of all Americans.

We are grateful to our local partners: Escucha Mi Voz, Iowa Citizen Action Network (ICAN), Catholics in Communion, Iowa City Catholic Worker, and Mainstreet Alliance. 🤝 Thank you to everyone who joined us, hosted, volunteered, or brought a friend. This is what it looks like to see each other, love our communities, and vote.
