Hello Old Friends… Sorry for the prolonged absence (many of us have been very busy with covid) but did someone say Independence?

Social Mobility Commission Chair? Start looking at ACEs, poverty and the other drivers of social exclusion, poor health and trauma to find why children develop into adults who make bad life choices 🤔
Exactly. Original Sin. Children need to be taught right from wrong and then habituated into choosing good over evil. That requires love and constant correction from all the adults in their lives over YEARS. Moral formation is a good thing. 👍🏽

I’m a salaried GP. Just home after a 14.5h day. we have > 40 pt contacts + referrals, results, letters, scripts, admin. Yet right wing press is dripping with anti NHS bile. NHS is broken due to marketisation & privatisation & cuts. NOT due to staff/ageing population/immigrants!

I am pleased on three accounts: 1) It creates a concrete Pro-Indy majority government. 2) It further cements the SGP into the political landscape, which will benefit everyone left-of-centre post Indy. 3) It has sent shockwaves of incoherent fury through the Zoomersphere.

Current data says there's a far far far higher risk of becoming infertile from chlamydia/PID than the vaccine in this age group so... unless ya'll are abstaining or swearing to 100% condom use get your jags 👍😘 (i.e. After 3.8bn doses, evidence = 0) theguardian.com/society/2021…

I’m not convinced that advocating the hanging of nurses & doctors represents the wisest path through a pandemic. I’m hoping that for some of the audience, their applause was just a dull lobotomised response to a very awkward pause.

“It compares favourably with previous estimates for UK (7.8%) and recent figures from Europe (3%).” Pity ⁦@BBCScotlandNews⁩ couldn’t muster headline to commend NHSScot staff on reducing to 1%! Hospital infections cost NHS Scotland £46m a year bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-5…

Creepy (and a bit racist). One of the best parts of working for the NHS is sharing that privilege with amazing people from around the world. You can't be the best service in the world without recruiting from all corners of the globe. 🌍 thetimes.co.uk/article/dido-…

Excellent news on the vaccine rollout in Scotland, despite the challenges of a massive geographical area and large rural regions.

Last week I gave a speech during the Houses scrutiny of the #queensspeech, with regard the recovery of the NHS and Social Care after the pandemic. #NHSrecovery #NHSstaffwellbeing #NHSpayrise

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 100% Yes. We've been pushing for a wellbeing-focus across politics in Scotland as a road to an independent Scotland. Now, as part of a covid-recovery, it could be the strongest message we can send about how we see our future nation realised. 👍 believeinscotland.org/wellbe…

Was made to feel super welcome at the SNP boot camp for young prospective candidates. I’m not party affiliated but want to encourage any involvement in local democracy. Get involved to make a change!

I'm voting for @AlexRowleyFife and Labour on the second ballot. Make it #BothVotesLabour
1/ I know this is tough. But this new virus strain is spreading much faster, and so we must act quickly to stop it taking hold. That means even tighter restrictions through January to prevent the serious situation currently faced by places like London & save lives.

SIC stakeholder organisation @AIMAberdeen announce a new research paper specific for the North East of Scotland. The research paper shall investigate and outline how the North East of Scotland can become the energy capital of the world. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🌍
All money raised at this event will go towards a research paper looking at how with independence we can make the North East the energy capital of the World hopin.com/events/aim-pre-con…

Probable because when you rehash an old argument that's been debated (or rather already promised) extensively in the run up to 2014, no one wants to hear something there was little-to-no appetite for in either Holyrood or Westminster the first time around. 🤷‍♂️
Interesting response to my Devo max article - no attempt by most to engage meaningfully in the debate just a lot of whataboutery
