The way Trent Reznor says "IM GONNA BURN THIS WHOLE WORLD DOWN!" in burn is maybe one of my favorite like. performances of his vocal wise. it's just so guttural and I think one of his most impressive ones. very much a Broken style song and it's so good because of it
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
something inside of me
has opened up its eyes
why did you put it there
did you not realize?
something inside of me
it screams the loudest sound
sometimes i think i could
IM GONNA BURN THIS WHOLE WORLD DOWN!
IM GONNA BURN THIS WHOLE WORLD DOWN!
i never was apart of you.
I TRIED A BIT AND I TRIED SOME MORE!
I LEFT HER ON THE BATHROOM FLOOR
I THINK I KNEW WHEN I CROSSED THE LINE
I THINK I KNEW THE WHOLE GODDAMNED TIME.
GOT A NEW FACE IT FEELS ALRIGHT!
POWER AND STRENGTH AND APPETITE!
I EAT YOUR LOATHING, HATE AND FEAR
SHOULD PROBABLY STAY AWAY FROM HERE.
HEY LOOK WHAT'S STARING BACK YOU AT YOU.
CAUGHT REFLECTING IN YOUR EYES
WELL, I'M BECOMING SOMETHING NEW!
IT'S GETTING HARD TO RECOGNIZE

as black as the night can get

there's always a way to forget
once you learn to find a way how
in the blur of serenity
where did everything get lost?
the flowers of naivete
buried in a layer of frost
Nine Inch Nails & Queens of the Stone Age & Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac & David Grohl - Copy of A / My God is the Sun
I still can't overstate how much I freaked out seeing the NIN shirt and then when they directly bring it up. God. It's so good.
