🚨 A $165 BILLION data center project in New Mexico is facing new scrutiny. Doña Ana County commissioners voted unanimously to notify Project Jupiter developers that their proposed power generation plan could violate the bond agreement backing the massive Santa Teresa facility.
Meanwhile, El Paso Electric is seeking a $70.5 million base rate increase that could raise New Mexico customers' electricity rates by an average of 26.8% in 2027. Project Jupiter also needs an air quality permit for a planned natural gas-fueled power plant, with a public hearing scheduled to begin Dec. 7. Questions remain about the project's power plans and the implications for New Mexico.

With Haaland significantly outraising Hull, the final weeks could come down to voter turnout and whether Hull can win over undecided voters.

🚨 New Mexico Rep. Andrea Reeb, R-Clovis, has resigned from the state House after a federal judge ruled that her simultaneous service as a legislator and special prosecutor violated the New Mexico Constitution.
Reeb says she relied on guidance from the State Ethics Commission and a 2024 opinion from Attorney General Raúl Torrez’s office. Although she disagrees with the judge’s ruling, she says resignation is the appropriate course. County commissions in her district will nominate a replacement, and Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham will make the appointment.
