So keen to get back into the @AusChampionship with @SBSSportau and what a game to start with!
Sutherland and @smfc represent the best of what's possible in the NPL on and off pitch - maybe one day beyond that.
To see their burning ambitions collide is going to be freal fun 🙌

And just like that, the 2026 NPL Victoria season is done.
From the opening night in February to yesterday’s Grand Final, it’s been another incredible year covering this competition.
Congratulations to Oakleigh Cannons on claiming the Premiership and to Avondale on being crowned 2026 NPL Victoria Champions.
For me personally, it’s been a privilege to be behind the mic throughout the season calling some of the biggest games of the year.
A massive thank you to everyone who tuned in to the @NPLVictoriaPod throughout the season. Our final episode of the season will come out in the next day or so.
Finally, a massive shoutout to @joshparish_ @NickDurbano_ @lachieflannigan for putting up with my controversial opinions 😂
Already counting down to 2027. 🎙️⚽️

Unreal game, crowd, atmosphere, the lot between Bulleen and Northcote on the final day of the VPL1 season.
The Veneto Club is one of the best venues in the state, especially when it’s rocking like it was yesterday.
The rematch in just under two weeks is going to be huge. 👀

2nd bottom in VPL. Real danger of being relegated.
Two teams from a league above - including one 21 places above them in the pyramid - KO'd on their @AustraliaCup debut.
North Sunshine might be the most #MagicoftheCup club yet.

A real treat to call 120 minutes of @AustraliaCup chaos between @smfc & Fremantle City.
Two teams who set out to entertain did absolutely that. An all-time tie!

Here at Lakeside Stadium for today’s massive New Balance Dockerty Cup Final.
Heidleberg who are winless in 8 league games are playing in their 5th Dockerty Cup Final in 10 years and will be looking to avenge their loss suffered in last years final. Huge team news with Yaren Sozer starting today. They make 2 other changes to the XI that lost 2-1 to Avondale last week. Yokokawa and Duarte are in whilst Dau is out with a fractured rib suffered in that game and Obani is out who is cup tied.
Preston who are on 11 game unbeaten run come into their 2nd Dockerty Cup Final as the favourites. They make only 1 change to their XI that drew 2-2 with Green Gully last week. Dom Folino returns to the centre of defence whist Lisolajski drops out.
Sun is shining, huge crowd building, it’s going to be a great occasion and I’m privileged to be calling this one alongside @stevencurtain & @NickDurbano_ . Pre game show starts at 1:55pm and kick off at 2:30pm all live on the @footballvic YouTube channel.
