Sky’s Monday Night Football starts 90 minutes before kickoff and continues for 60 minutes after the game ends
Expect absolutely no talk of the actual match and more crying and sulking about Man City trying to compete with their pre-selected elite clubs
It’s just so tedious

Five years ago today, celebrating the Newcastle United takeover with a Black Velvet, following the case I worked on against the Premier League.
One of my longest and often most challenging sports law cases, but also one of the most enjoyable and memorable.

Am I the only one thinking we’d have missed it #nufc 🤣🤣🤣

If I understand correctly Chelsea made £47m in off-book payments to secure players up until 2022.
If the £47m had been paid legitimately it would have counted for PSR.
If they had breached PSR they would have had points deductions like Everton and Forest.
What am I missing?

Everton have an overspend of 19m due to payments related to building a new stadium, investing in the area, giving locals jobs etc etc. NO SPORTING ADVANTAGE.
Chelsea give backhanders to agents to get their players to Chelsea over other clubs and with those players Chelsea win MULTIPLE trophies but we are told, by the same people who deducted points from Everton and ordered them to pay 40m to Burnley that Chelsea had NO SPORTING ADVANTAGE
Make it make sense

Ever since the attempt of 6 clubs to break away and form the super league the Premier League has bent over backwards for them.
Everything is in their favour on and off the pitch and when they fail to follow the rules they are treated differently the rest.
Sick of it.

Everton
2 breaches
8 points deducted (down from 18)
Sporting advantage
£13m loss - prize money
£38m loss - sued
Forest
1 breach
4 points deducted
Sporting advantage
Chelsea
74 breaches
0 points deducted (down from 15)
No Sporting advantage?
£10m EPL fine
£10m FA fine
🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️

It’s quite startling that football bosses in this country are up in arms about Infantino and FIFA and calling them corrupt.
Meanwhile, their own league is probably the most corrupt in Europe yet they turn a blind eye to it.
Double standards doesn’t even scratch the surface.
Thank you for giving me the best day of my life (so far - ever the optimist!).
You’ve left an incredible legacy and will always have a special place in our hearts.
Wishing you and your family all the best for the future.
Thank you Eddie 🖤 🤍

Onwards. Anyone that follows Newcastle has experienced far worse situations than this.
It’s a jolt to the system, but we’ve had loads and this was inevitable. We’ve no time to sit around, we’ve got to get behind this football club because we don’t support any other. #NUFC

Thanks for everything Eddie.
Lots of people will have lots of opinions on whether it's right or wrong, but we'll simply say this:
On March 16, 2025, on a Sunday afternoon at Wembley, you made our dreams come true and your place in NUFC folklore is enshrined forever 🖤🤍

Statement on behalf of Terry McDermott and his family
We are heartbroken by the loss of our dear friend, Kevin Keegan.
Kevin was so much more than a teammate. He was a lifelong friend whose warmth, loyalty, humour and passion for football touched so many lives. The memories they shared, both on and off the pitch, will be treasured forever.
Although Terry’s dementia means he is no longer able to express his feelings publicly, we know how much Kevin meant to him and how deeply this loss would have affected him.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Jean, Laura, Sarah and all of Kevin’s family at this incredibly sad time. We hope they find comfort in the love and respect being shown for Kevin by so many people.
Kevin was one of football’s true greats, but to Terry he was, above all, a cherished friend.
He will be greatly missed and never forgotten. #nufc #lfc

The club need to rename the east stand after KK and carry that through to any new stadium, a statue isn’t enough. Future generations need to ask their dad who Kevin Keegan was and know why he’s a massive reason they’ve even got a club to support. We’ll never have a bigger legend.
