✨ When I checked my emails this morning, I was thrilled to see that "ASN In the Loop" had featured our latest article (Mattias et al.) in JASN! 🚀
💪 Mechanical forces are extremely important for understanding the biology and pathology of podocytes in culture.
🧬 In vivo, podocytes are constantly exposed to mechanical forces that strongly influence gene expression.
I am still surprised that so few groups expose cells to their natural biomechanical environment. 🐙 In podocytes in particular, the influence of mechanical stretching on cell architecture is striking – something we already demonstrated in JASN (Endlich et al.) back in 2001.
📣 I am delighted that this important topic is now gaining more recognition in the nephrology community! 🙏
