Yes, it’s gone. We went from making/editing videos to directing/managing Ai agents making/editing videos. I personally don’t do as much video editing as I did in the past but rather do copyediting atm where I edit by dictating speech to text style.
Is editing "the old way" gone forever? ... yeah

And it’s not 'headless' since I’m thinking a lot and using my head, but just saying words into my mic and then the machine does 99% of the time what I intended to do feels like being in a sci-fi movie. The future is now 🤠

The "Human Edit" button in X is a genius idea... it's like "Uber for X", WHAT?! The regular "Edit" button allows you to edit the text yourself. But that's not really editing. That's correcting the worst mistakes.

And thanks to an instant AI-powered analysis of your text, the "Human Edit" button knows which specialty is required by the human editor.

Speed for the sake of being fast is as helpful as running around with your head detached from the body... and becoming a headless chicken. At some point, you're advised to get a reality check and you’ll start to wonder if what you're after is efficiency or effectiveness.

Efficiency = "I'm using my time, effort, and resources wisely so that my investment is rewarded by my output." Effectiveness = "What do I works." Sometimes you cannot be fast to be effective. Anyway. Good luck not bumping your head too often!

realized that "ordinary dude turned gangster" stories are kinda my thing - examples → Breaking Bad, Ozark, The Cleaning Lady

Is he long? Or is he short? And is his length a measure of quality? He is your text, and I observed two misunderstandings about him and a false belief of keeping him short. I also came to a surprising conclusion that is a much better measure of quality than length could ever be. I want to share it with you so your next published text makes you sound smarter and is more fun to read. The first misunderstanding is about the time it takes to produce a text. The second misunderstanding is about a person’s willingness to read a text and their reading time. There is a misunderstanding that writing a shorter text takes less time than writing a longer text. When I dictate to my phone via speech to text (like right now), I can articulate myself fairly well, but very soon I find out that I start to ramble, loose track of my thought… and eventually there’s a long sentence that doesn’t really communicate what I want to say, but it’s long. This last sentence is an example of it. Ironically, writing a long text takes less time and writing a short text takes more time. That’s because editing a text is what you do the majority of the time. And what editing is actually trying to achieve, I will tell you at the end of this text because right now I want to point out the second misunderstanding. The second misunderstanding is about what it means to be living in the age of 8-second attention span: Short text doesn’t mean good, and long text doesn’t mean bad. It only means, you have a T-minus 8 seconds until you need to get the reader’s attention again, also called a “re-hook.” This is similar to the unofficial standup comedy 'rule' where your goal is to make the audience laugh every 10-15 seconds. And this 'rule' only exists because some people compute and process information slower or faster than others. It’s fast thinkers vs. slow thinkers. They are both part of your audience, and they both appreciate this one conclusion that I want to share with you now. This following conclusion, that applies to both the writer and reader of a text, reveals why length is always only a by-product of a text but not the goal… just like money is only a by-product of being relentlessly helpful to people and building long-lasting relationships with people. Here is the conclusion, and I want you remember this: When you write a text, your goal is to write a Big Sentence, and then another one, and another one. A Big Sentence is defined by its density of thought. It’s always dense because you could easily expand it two, three, or four normal sentences without losing quality. A Big Sentence is a quality sentence because when you write them consistently you end up with a paragraph that could equal a quality page, a page of Big Sentences could equal a quality chapter, and a chapter of Big Sentences could equal a quality book. This is the practical beauty of a Big Sentence.

1. Visual Alignment 2. Hawk Eye Narrative Well explained.
This is the best storytelling hack for educational content. It’s called Comprehension Maxing. These are the two easiest ways to hold viewer’s attention.

Famous screen actor Will Smith has a problem. Everybody knows him. Everybody recognizes his face. He loves it. But what if you want to act like Will without being face-famous? You enjoy the act of acting and that’s what you want to be known for: your performance. I know three solutions. One is ghostwriting. The other is voice-acting. The third is singing. Ghostwriting is when you study a person and their writing voice, and you then write on their behalf. You act. Voice-acting is when you study the art and craft of acting, you apply what you learned and you act like a screen actor: you use your voice, your face, your hands, arms, legs, your whole body. But… nobody sees you doing it. All they see is nothing. They can only hear you reading words off of a page and you make it sound like you’re not reading. This is not limiting. This is them focusing on one bidirectional channel: voice-to-ear-to-voice. Your voice into their ears and them re-voicing your acting when they really like your acting. The more you feel the words, the more they will feel you and connect. Singing is a third way to be known without being face-famous. It’s similar to voice-acting and screen-acting. It differs as it’s a melodic way of voice-acting where usually the act itself is not the core but the expression of true feelings. Some would argue singing is not acting but for me it is. You’re performing after all. But singing allows more range as it’s not bound to the written word but can include just sounds without literal meaning. All three - ghostwriting, voice-acting - offer ways to feel a person, to viscerally connect with a person, and they allow you stay face-invisible to the world so you don’t have to deal with lack of privacy that face-famous actors usually have to deal with when they have to “run away” from people. You can be famous and nobody knows you, if that makes sense.

If we can remember things we thought we had forgotten but learned about once, it’s not unreasonable to think that we can remember things we never directly acquired, things that are part of the universal human consciousness. The purpose of books and other long-form content then is to help us remember by revisiting what we acquired, either you as an individual or we as a human collective mind. You never really forget. You only need to be willing to remember by walking down with courage and curiositythe metaphysical lane, wherever it takes you.

He just got out of prison. Now he’s selling suitcases for travelers and doing a damn job. Yesterday we bought three light-blue suitcases from him for our time at the sea: small, medium, big. When the police officer passed by while he was getting our suitcases from the storage, he said, “If you sell drugs again, you’ll be back.” High agency people come in all shapes and sizes. Sometimes it’s a former felon.

The tendency of doomsdaying things for attention by people with too much money and too much time is entertaining as a psychological, behavioral experiment on the living object and it increases the amount of money they have when attention is being paid out in $. But it’s not a productive dialogue, rather something that wears off quickly like make-up or visually overstimulating MrBeast videos. The addiction machine in full force. Substance missing.

My smartest investment was a domain I bought for $13.66, held for 2 years, worked on it a bit, and sold for $2,500 vs. $40,98 domain costs - best ROI I’ve had so far. The domain? copywritingexamples.com The journey? Sincere interest in the topic of copywriting, applying a proven model (i.e. marketingexamples.com by Harry Dry), being willing to make something with it, realizing I’m not as passionate about the project as I thought I would, still trying a bit more and then letting it sit there for a while... the request to buy the domain by Harry back then was pure coincidence (or "luck"), and now it’s a business asset for him. The funny thing: I still have the substack publication where I still get subscribers WITHOUT publishing anything anymore → copywritingexamples.substack…

Short summaries of longer pieces like screenshots, listicles, etc. all fail as it’s not about the information only but about you thinking that reading and processing the consumed information kicks off. Different from videos and audio does text allow consumption at one’s speed - fast or slow or medium or with breaks and then you continue later. It was never only about the information but the (big) ideas you had as a result of it and the respective execution of your ideas.
