I started reading my friend, @jenniferwilken's new book, Dust to Dust yesterday, read some more this morning, talked to good friends about it over breakfast, attended the funeral of a godly woman in my church mid-day, and then finished the book this afternoon.
I close the book feeling challenged by Jen's personal example of honoring her parents (which i've witnessed not only in the pages of the book but over years of her life), feeling sobered by the reality of my days being numbered . . .
feeling prayerful that what I lose in appearance as I age will be gained in my soul, and feeling grateful that this wisdom has been captured in a brief but powerful book. Now where can I buy this book in bulk to give to all my other friends? us.10ofthose.com/product/979…
Whenever I’m in Europe or the UK I wonder, why don’t we have electric towels warmers in our bathrooms? #goals
Twenty-five years ago today Time Magazine published this beautiful article by @DavidVanBiema on the day our son Gabriel was born. Still grateful for the way it communicates the value of his brief life. time.com/archive/6664340/whe…

🫤 that feeling you get when studying a verse in context makes you realize you’ve been using it to say something that may be true, but isn’t the intended meaning of the text.
Sometimes as I sit here trying to figure what the Bible means and how to communicate it helpfully and clearly to others, I wonder why I am so drawn to doing something so hard. #tweetingaboutiteasierthandoingit
I should say I’m grateful for the help I’m getting in this project from folks like @iain_duguid, @DrGladd, @TremperLongman, Christopher Ash, @crossway ESV Expository Commentary Series, and the Biblical Theological Introductions to the Old and New Testaments from @ReformTheoSem
Just reading about two sisters, Oholah and Oholibah in Ezekiel 23. There is simply no possibility of these biblical names becoming popular baby names.
Pinching myself that I get to teach the story of Hosea and Gomer tonight at Cornerstone Pres. We have a Bridegroom who has chosen us, wooed us to himself, and bought us at great cost in order that he might sanctify us to himself. #almosttoogoodtobetrue
