This is the best my phone could do, but seeing it live was indescribable! We're in a neighborhood and not a lot of people are really close to us but you could hear everyone gasp and cheer in the whole town when the Moon clicked into place! Stunning! #Eclipse2024

Just realized I captured Venus, below and to the right of the Sun. Jupiter was also visible to the left and above, but not seen here.

The folks at @ShepardBooks asked me to choose my 5 favorite books on the Apollo missions to the Moon. It was hard to choose just 5, but here they are, led by the two Andys, @andrewchaikin 's classic and @AndySaunders_1 new classic! Read my choices here: shepherd.com/best-books/book…

The Sun today, just a few moments ago as seen by the @Unistellar Equinox2 with a solar filter. A sunspot group can be seen near the right limb; the Sun's granulation —or the bubble-like features --are also visible across the entire surface.

Here’s a look at the Sun just a few moments ago as seen with @Unistellar Equinox 2 and their brand new solar filter. A small sunspot group can be seen just to the left and down slightly from center. Finally a sunny day here in MN

Wow So the Saturn 1B that was being taken down in Alabama was coming down piece by piece. carefully. Until they dropped the first stage bringing it down. What an absolute disgraceful end to the story. There is now only one remaining Saturn 1B in the world.
