Super pumped to announce that our company, Tapjoy, has been acquired by ironSource for $400mn. Ever since we merged Tapdaq and Tapjoy in late 2018, as a combined business we have been working hard to grow the platform in new ways.

When your business is literally in the performance industry - you can’t ship mediocre. A good example of a business that should and could have remained bootstrapped. Now they’re a VC backed agency…and we all know where that heads ☠️

🇬🇧 The recent capital gains tax increase in the UK was expected to bring additional tax revenue. Instead, high-net-worth individuals and families are leaving the country leading to an 18% fall in net capital gains tax revenue. A £2.7b loss. Welcome to the Laffer curve, suckers.

Just saw a British tourist in Croatia order “a pint of your coldest lager, mate” at a bakery. Brits are the worst tourists ever.

Brits are the worst tourists in the world. This 50 year old guy in Croatia got so drunk, he passed out, the bar staff thought he was dead so called an ambulance for him to get home. My guess is he’d look at this as a free taxi home and a bonus IV drip so he can get cracking again first thing in the morning.

Name me a more exciting company then $NET at the moment… Literally one of the only companies I can think of that can add a monetisation layer across the web for AI data providers.

I own thrifts.com - love the domain but no idea what to do with it. Any interesting thoughts? If I run with an idea I’ll make the journey public (failure or success).

Bad take. Very bad take.
That’s why focus is overrated. Lovable started as a weekend project (like most successful startups). Go viral, then focus. I’ve almost never seen a startup take off when nothing happened for months after launch. Focusing on the wrong project leads to burnout (been there). Make more small bets and let the market decide when it’s time to focus. Massive congrats to Anton and the Lovable team!

The post is incorrect. Lovable was launched three times (before going viral). x.com/itsalfredw/sta…

I’ll take the counter argument: $12M on a domain is a significantly poorer investment than $12M on product development. Anyone use Love.com? Remember Voice.com? A name doesn’t fix a flawed product, but a strong product markets itself. Time will tell 🤷

Where’s the community note @CommunityNotes - this is total BS.
President Trump is reciprocating by charging approximately HALF of what other countries are already charging American companies. How could anyone be mad at this!?

It’s been confirmed by multiple sources that the “Tariffs Charged to the U.S.A.” column is not related in any way to the tariffs assessed by these countries, but rather the ratio of the trade deficit with that country divided by imports from that country. x.com/orthonormalist… x.com/JamesSurowieck… x.com/typesfast/stat… nytimes.com/2025/04/02/bus… newsweek.com/donald-trump-r…

So… @AHoensbroech, I truly love westjet, but 350,000 people have seen the post below… Your ‘x’ bio is attached to your profile on the Westjet governance website…so why no public response to something that seems so obviously wrong? 😑
Big shout out to @WestJet who cancelled my wife's flight, leaving her and our 9 month old baby stranded, and didn't rebook her so she had to find her own flight home (and pay for it). You just denied her claim to refund her for the canceled flight. Absolutely atrocious. 🖕

It can’t just be me that finds this presentation style desperately unoriginal? Yes, Steve Jobs basically brought this to corporations, but he was a story telling genius. I don’t think this imitation of Steve’s presentation style works, at all…because it’s never as good as him!
WATCH: Secretive startup by 30 ex-Apple employees, @Humane, finally demoed their highly anticipated product at TED. Looks like CEO @imranchaudhri is betting the future of AR to be one that doesn’t force you to wear glasses. What are your thoughts?

Awesome chart on the cost of electricity derived from solar over the last 10 years ☀️ 💰 📉
It's hard not to be bullish on solar power

Hydropanels are an awesome idea. 💧 Fans on each panel draw in ambient air and push it through a water-absorbing material, trapping the vapor from the air. The vapor is then condensed to liquid using energy from the sun! thecooldown.com/green-tech/h… #renewables #athomeenergy

1/ The battery vs combustion engine debate rages on… Many people think ‘batteries are just as bad for the environment as fossil fuels in cars’. Batteries in EV’s contain Lithium (which needs to be mined), so during the production of EV’s, how much CO2 is emitted? A thread 🧵

15/ Feel like I've missed any key points? Lmk. But, the next time someone brings up the argument of whether batteries are just as bad for the environment as fossil fuels in cars, send them this thread, and read the superb analysis by the ICCT here: theicct.org/sites/default/fi…
