In 1996 a group of Dublin printers, called the Chapel, saw what was happening and the skills that were at risk of being lost forever. They banded together to push for the creation of a @NatPrintMuseum which celebrates its 30th birthday.

Agreed @RMcGreevy1301. This is a great little exhibition that manages to incorporate industrial history, design history and social history in a way that's genuinely engaging. Well done @NatPrintMuseum.
Fascinating exhibition at the @NatPrintMuseum curated by Dr Linda King and opened by @davidmccullagh. It tells the story of a group of Dutch designers who reimagined how to market Irish aviation and tourism in the 1950s and 60s. Seán Lemass, the subject of my latest book, was a champion of Irish aviation and founded Aer Lingus in 1936 and Dublin Airport in 1940. Shannon Airport was also opened on his watch.

Delighted to support our friends @NatPrintMuseum who this Sept (4-6th) celebrate its 30th anniversary with a 3-day festival.
It will explore the many ways in which print continues to shape art, literature, social history, science & everyday life.

We’re closed for the long (long) weekend, but back next week with more holiday workshops and fun 🐣
We’ve a little celebration of our own this weekend, so we’ll be hopping on here to share something we’ve been working on too 😉
Is there a piece of Irish aviation history hiding in your attic...?!
At the National Print Museum, we believe that history isn't just found in archives, it's found in your cupboards, scrapbooks, and old suitcases.
We are excited to announce that we are working on…
So, if you’ve any posters, tickets, timetables, luggage labels etc. and you’re willing to lend these from May to December, please share them with us!
Send a photo to [email protected] by 13 April, with a brief note stating why you held on to this object!
an exhibition exploring how Irish aviation development shaped Irish tourism and the growth of Irish graphic design.
To do this, we are currently bringing together examples of printed ephemera from the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s.
