Some more thoughts: 1. In Texas, getting mineral rights waivers are harder and take longer than ever. Case law is useful but it’s even more critical than ever to have these in place especially in West Texas where there is lots of activity. 2. East Texas is not buildable unless you’re a neocloud and can take the legal risk. Hyperscalers or foundational model companies may capitulate and come here but it will be a last resort type of thing. 3. Power pipeline is clogged everywhere. Utilities are completely overwhelmed and will ratchet their pipelining process to flush out the squatters. This will mean higher capital commitments earlier in the process for those that are real. 4. Builders don’t have the economic authority to offer local incentives to get the utility to move them up in the queue. The ultimate offtaker isn’t as aggressive as they should be to accelerate grid connections. When the builder/offtaker is the same, these conditions get much better. This is a big benefit for being a well funded IG hyperscaler. 5. Consumer pushback is still ratcheting up. Data centers are an easy target against the oligarchy who, collectively, still haven’t done enough to win society to their side.

The point is we do not presently live under socialism, so the question before us is: Is it good for the cause of socialism if socialists work very hard to make markets work poorly, and make life harder for the working class, and take credit for doing so? Or is it good for the cause of socialism that socialists govern competently and deliver things people need, while attempting at the same time to expand the share of output directed by the public sector? Personally, I am not persuaded that “make things worse for people, on purpose,” is a good strategy for winning converts to the cause of socialism.
“Left-YIMBYism” is one of the funniest things I’ve seen people talk themselves into. Like yeah, I’m a socialist except in the case of housing where I believe in supply-side economics and deregulation. Let’s bulldoze some section 8 housing and sell it to developers

Any Republicans doing this 2 weeks out? (legit asking)
BASH: “You're still fully behind Abdul El-Sayed?” STEVENS: “Look, I'm on the Democratic ticket. I can't say that I agree with everything that's gone on… I'm looking to be on the team to support my next governor Jocelyn Benson, and frankly these great Democrats who are working their tails off, who are going to make Hakeem Jeffries the first black Speaker of the House.” BASH: “You didn't mention Abdul El-Sayed in that last answer.” STEVENS: “Well, look, I would just say, you had asked me if I'm still on the team, I'm on the team.”

I’m sure plenty of people will hate this take but imo DSA *has* to exist as a big tent for all those who find Democrats inadequate if we want to achieve any relevance. There simply are not enough socialists in America (yet) to be anything else.

Yea, it's weird there are open socdems in DSA.

It is late October and people are voting every day, if you cannot give a full-throated endorsement to the Democratic nominee who could be the key vote in flipping the Senate, then stay the fuck off television

"the white house should look like the place where i order asian chicken nachos because otherwise how will working-class americans know they're respected." listen to yourself.
The coastal elites hate Americana. We know what they really think, and we know why they are so quickly defending Obama’s snobbery. They might think they are “too good” for the Cheesecake Factory, or find the decor to be tacky, but most regular Americans don’t

another strike against the Yglesias et al. "just ignore tough questions rather than respond with moral authority" approach 🤝🤝🤝
#KansasSenate Adam Hamilton on transgender rights: “I don’t think we should take a small group of people and bully them, pick on them, and hurt them. I understand one thing really clearly when it comes to transgender people, and that is Jesus told me I was to love my neighbor as I love myself.” “I’m gonna love the trans person as well as the straight person, male or female. We have to do better than picking on small groups. What’s happened is we’ve turned a group of people into a campaign issue because it polls well.”

damn so that bad huh?
I've been asked about early voting analysis. The dilemma I have is that my platform is big enough such that being too blunt can have an effect on morale. I'll push out new states and tools out to my website soon, but won't announce them here on 𝕏. I will be giving @realJeremyCarl my predictions a week in advance so he can hold me accountable after Election Day. You MUST turn out and bring their friends, and brace yourself on election night. Even TX is going to be a fight.

here's a whole ass article about the gaudy aesthetic of a cheesecake factory thetakeout.com/1621407/why-c…
This line is getting praise on X, but it’s actually elitist garbage written by a speechwriter who clearly hasn’t spent much time in a Cheesecake Factory, which has none of the gaudy Trump aesthetic, and just feels good to say because it represents flyover MAGA “night out.”

damn did he really just say "Black guy with good taste provoked racist backlash that gave us classless wannabe-King Midas" out loud?
Makes speeches for 500k a pop. Hasn’t eaten dinner that costs less than $250 in years. Has never been in a Cheesecake Factory. Undefeated at condescending to regular folks. Will always be known for a presidency that ushered in the Trump era to begin with.

Classic Obama snobbery. Cheesecake Factory is a great option for people who can’t afford a private chef at their Martha’s Vineyard estate.

It would be accurate to label Trump's whole brand as "Cheesecake Factory faux riche" so I guess the criticism really hits home for his buffoons.
