Modder Keff0 found an insane amount of leftover code for a cancelled roguelike DLC with 11 playable characters in the PS4 disc version of RE 2 Remake. • Leon S. This discovery now explains why the model was in the game files. He was part of the roguelike's playable roster. The mode was about choosing one of 11 characters, each with five different loadouts containing weapons, ammo and items. 🏃‍♂️‍➡️ Each run was supposed to start in the Base Area, a hub with a shop. Players would then explore the R.P.D. in short, medium or long runs. Items would be randomly placed in rooms, and warp gates would connect different areas (like in RE9 Leon Must Die Forever). After each run, players could return to the hub to sell items, buy upgrades and start again. 🆙 The mode also had a leveling system from 1 to 50. Players could buy levels in the shop using points. Enemies had their own levels assigned when they spawned. Zombies that were too high-level for the player would stop flinching from handgun, shotgun and magnum shots. Only bosses would give XP. The mode used a currency called Rogue Points (RP). The shop offered healing items, ammo, gunpowder, weapon parts, modification kits, recovery capsules, level-ups and inventory and item box expansions. There was also a lives counter, a continue option and a results screen. 🔥 The Ghost Survivors DLC was originally supposed to be this roguelike mode before being changed into the version we received.
