What a morning 🥹
So many discussions.
So many inspiring words.
So many new ideas for ambassadors to be involved in Laureus sport for good.
Thank you @Laureus_sa for our time together

“What can we do with our own skills?” - Jennifer Matibi.
Some great food for thought from your story.
Thank you for sharing and inspiring.

Some inspiration …
"Sport isn't just a game. It is a bridge.
As the example … In the midst of conflict, young athletes in @peaceplayers programs keep playing, proving that unity can thrive where politics divide.
25 years on, the mission remains

Huge thanks to Sean Fitzpatrick for his leadership in driving our strategy and mobilising ambassadors, Academy members and athletes.
Their advocacy, visits and support help create real impact, not just through fundraising but by pushing for policy change.
It is our first ever @Laureus_sa ambassadors summit here in South Africa, in the 25 year of Laureus global.
Chief executive officer Ned wills from London and global chairman Sean Fitzpatrick joined us via Zoom.
What a wonderful evening it was connecting!
#EOP2025 was a blast ✨

People frequently ask me about the 10km event I participated in at the Olympic Games.
Completing a 10km swim can take around 2 hours, depending on the weather and water conditions, though it can vary.
This race is tactical, gruelling and mentally challenging, but I would not have had it any other way!
In Paris 2024, the Marathon Swimming events begin and finish at the Pont Alexandre III in the iconic River Seine,
creating a spectacular venue that promises life-changing moments for all qualified competitors.

Thank you for following my moments and experiences as I look back on my story to look forward to Paris 2024, as part of The First Effect campaign #Deloitte.
This iconic photo of me sitting on the pontoon just before the start of a the race while my competitors…
I would sit and splash myself with the water, feeling the temperature, resting my muscles for that last time before the gruelling, 2-hour race.
Here’s an interesting fact: the start pontoon is typically makeshift, often made from plastic or something more solid, and it’s movable
When 50 girls dive on “take your marks,” the pontoon shifts significantly. I used to rely on sitting for the stability I needed to prevent a false start before the gun goes off.
