The Irish team is wearing black armbands for Gaza in tonight’s game against Israel. The Irish team hasn’t shown any solidarity with Ukraine after the summer of 2022. The Aughinish Alumina refinery in Limerick has continued to export massive amounts of alumina to Russia throughout the war. The aluminium is used by Russia to produce missiles that the then fire at Ukraine. The Irish players could have easily decided to protest against that, but they don’t care.
