Today, after almost three years in this space, I finally reached 4,000 followers! 🥹❤️

Concrete counter-proposal to the pure energy hunger of today’s digital AI ⁉️
While large AI data centers today are discussing or planning nuclear power plants and reactor restarts, the photonic and neuromorphic approach shows another theoretical path: memory and processor are combined in the hardware, signals travel as light instead of electrical switching operations. Lab systems already operate at around 75 watts – without the cooling power of classical chips – while the biological brain achieves comparable complexity with about 20 watts. The two visualizations show exactly this idea: light paths that reflect, split, pulse and connect in three-dimensional grids, instead of constantly shuttling data back and forth between separate memories and processors. It is still basic research, but a concrete counter-proposal to the pure energy hunger of today’s digital AI.
