The below complaints are not dealt with by the NBCPSS. These complaints must be referred to the CCMA,
•Discrimination.
•Non-payment of benefits/salary where the Complainant is no longer employed or payment at termination.
•Severance pay.
Organisational rights (Trade union rights) – Trade unions can lay complaints on behalf of employees, but members of the trade union cannot lay complaints about the trade union to NBCPSS.
•Retrenchments.

1. Who Administers the Provident Fund?
The Provident Fund is administered by the Private Security Sector Provident Fund (PSSPF), not the NBCPSS. It is important to note that the PSSPF operates independently from the Council.

The Provident Fund predates the Council, which is why the PSSPF operates independently. The powers to enforce compliance with Provident Fund regulations reside with the Council.
