Great to hear from @NealWarnock that there was a juvenile Curlew Sandpiper in Mill Bay this afternoon! Luckily still there this evening rummaging around in the rotting seaweed with Dunlins and Ruddy Turnstones. Just the third record for Rathlin and the first since Sep 2022

Well this was a nice surprise for a dreary afternoon - RING-NECKED DUCK, a new bird species for Rathlin! Cannily predicted by @NealWarnock, except it happened to be just up the road on Craigmacagan Lough 😄
Out the front door in Ballygally right now #northernlights
Adult Bonaparte’s Gull along the coast at Larne this evening @nibirds
Absolutely thrilled to watch a flock of around 80 Waxwings moving through the garden this lunchtime. They made short work of the hawthorn berries before vanishing into a rain-laden sky.
Adult Little Gull at Drains Bay this afternoon @nibirds
Just nipped out to put the bins out in Ballygally #aurora #northernlights
Nice to find a Great White Egret at Myroe Levels today. Also 5 Curlew Sandpipers, 32 Slavonian Grebes and 100+ Whooper Swans there. Then over to Portrush for the Surf Scoter @nibirds
