Fridges and freezers at dozens of supermarkets across Europe have overheated in a suspected cyberattack.
Supermarkets in Belgium, Luxembourg and Sweden have reported disruptions, with some forced to throw away chilled and frozen food worth millions of pounds.
It follows a major cyberattack in France last month, which affected hundreds of supermarkets and caused millions of euros in losses.
The incidents are raising concerns about the vulnerability of Europe's food supply chains, as everyday supermarket equipment becomes increasingly connected to the internet.

Jenrick, now Reform UK treasury spokesman, is listed as ‘possibly’ referring an export packing firm. Graham Brady, then chair of the 1922 committee of backbench Tory MPs, referred an interior design company near his Altrincham and Sale West seat. Brady told Democracy for Sale that he had “no recollection of this but given the location, I assume I was passing on an approach from a constituent. I have no involvement with the company and never have had.” Owen Paterson, who later left parliament after a lobbying scandal, referred a Birmingham biotech firm working on pregnancy complications. None of these firms were given contracts. Then health secretary Matt Hancock is named against 27 companies, three of them marked ‘possible’. ⚡️ Ukrainian strikes reportedly knocked out 10% of Russia’s oil refining capacity in just three days, according to OSINT analysts.
The targets included the Kstovo and Novokuybyshevsk refineries and Bashneft-Novoil, with a combined annual capacity of approximately 33 million tonnes of oil.

We are witnessing an increasingly concerning encroachment on fundamental civil liberties. Pensioners, working professionals and ordinary members of the public are being arrested for peacefully protesting against genocide, even books are being banned.
The right to protest, freedom of expression and freedom of thought are cornerstones of democracy. They must not be eroded simply because people are expressing views that those in power would rather not hear. The precedent this sets should concern everyone, regardless of their political position.
There is also a serious question to be asked about the use of police time and resources. At a time when we are repeatedly told that the criminal justice system is so overstretched that the early release of offenders is necessary, is this really where those resources should be directed? At pensioners and ordinary people peacefully holding placards, rather than tackling serious crime?
The Government should be directing its attention towards confronting the real crime: genocide, and ensuring accountability for those responsible, rather than pursuing those who speak out against it.
I voted against the proscription of Palestine Action in Parliament, for this reason. Civil liberties should not be conditional, and the right to dissent must be protected.
