The Iranian people are not the Islamic Republic. They are its first victims. I had the privilege of taking part in the meeting with Crown Prince @PahlaviReza, alongside fellow Members of the European Parliament. I was also honoured to deliver the opening remarks. I spoke about why the future of Iran matters enormously to Europe. For too long, the Islamic regime has denied Iranians their freedom while financing terrorism, destabilising the Middle East and supporting Russia's war against Ukraine. A free and democratic Iran would open the door to greater regional stability, stronger economic cooperation and a new partnership between Iran and Europe. Europe's future is closely connected to Iran's future. The Iranian people deserve the right to determine their own future, and we must continue to support that right.

Europe refuses to understand one simple fact: the future of Iran is directly tied to the future of Europe. An Iran liberated from it's oppressors opens up a new chapter of possibilities for this continent. Trade, growth and prosperity. On the other hand, a future in which the Islamic regime continues to export its ideology of terror, will become existential to us.
