There it is. Explicitly aligning Conservative party with Trumpian lawlessness.
Congratulations to President Trump on successfully arresting narco-terrorist and socialist dictator Nicolas Maduro, who should live out his days in prison.
The legitimate winner of the most recent Venezuelan elections, Edmundo González, should take office along with the courageous hero and voice of the Venezuelan people, María Corina Machado.
Down with socialism. Long live freedom.

Critical appraisal is required to ensure that AI is not used to solve certain problems facing health systems only to exacerbate a much greater problem.
Implementation of AI could be disastrous for the climate

In 1968, Sidney Poitier was at a press conference at the height of his career.
He made it very clear how he felt about the press.
Funny that I had to find this on a discarded film reel with 1000s of books, Microfiche and films.
Now you can see it.

Most leaders value loyalty. Great leaders put a higher premium on integrity.
Loyalty is allegiance to power. You're expected to show deference and follow orders.
Integrity is allegiance to principles. You're expected to challenge orders that violate your mission or values.

Today, I met the people who saved my life.
I’ve been tweeting about my cardiac arrest since I woke up in the ICU and re-downloaded twitter (@LGlaucomflecken deleted it for my own safety and concluded that if I could figure out how to get it back, I was safe to tweet again)

Canadian #healthcare is much the same, @doc_bipolar.
Health authorities & ministries bank on HCPs that overdeliver, self-sacrifice & don't challenge.
The profession of medicine has internalized these principles, though, so we know this is wrong but we train ppl to comply.

This is a tough topic. Supportive members of three different Faculties have advised that I risk retaliation here in Calgary just for asking difficult questions. But, if academics won't speak up, how can we justify tenure?
This is where the rubber meets the road.

Categorically false. Support is NOT always available when ppl need it.
Every day I see people in the ED who would benefit from outpatient counselling and psychiatric services who simply cannot get access to such help. Wait lists are months-yrs long.
This needs to change.
This #MentalIllnessAwarenessWeek, remember that support is always available when you need it.
Through One Stop Talk, our government is connecting children, youth and their families to more convenient mental health counselling when and where they need it.

Pretty wild that nurse practitioners will get paid more than family doctors do. And that they are allowed to charge patients privately!Perhaps if Family doctors were remunerated appropriately, these private clinics wouldn’t be taking advantage @OntariosDoctors @SGFP4FamilyDocs

Why not create targets for learning modules in first few years of practice instead of going down a path that will drive students toward specialties that are only 1-2 years longer. Otherwise show the evidence that students will consider family equally or more so than presently.

📢 Our largest missed #pandemic opportunity is absolutely ventilation. 😔
It's disheartening to see how this crucial aspect has been overlooked throughout the pandemic. Ventilation is a solution that is both politically and medically noncontroversial, requiring no significant effort on the part of individuals, and yet it has the potential to significantly lower harm not just from Covid, but also from allergies, asthma, flu, and pollutants. 🌬️
It's puzzling to me why the administration and politicians haven’t placed more emphasis on this simple yet effective measure. By improving ventilation systems in public spaces, schools, and workplaces, we could have mitigated the spread of the virus and saved countless lives. 😷
Moreover, the benefits of enhanced ventilation extend far beyond the current pandemic. By prioritizing this aspect, we could have created healthier environments for everyone, reducing the burden of respiratory illnesses and improving overall well-being. 🌿
It's disheartening to think about the missed opportunities and the potential impact we could have had if ventilation had been given the attention it deserves. As we move forward, let's not forget the lessons learned and advocate for better ventilation systems in all aspects of our lives. Together, we can create a safer and healthier future for all. 💪🏽
Agree? Share your thoughts below. Let's discuss and raise awareness about the importance of ventilation in combating not just Covid, but also other respiratory challenges we face. 🗣️ #VentilationMatters #MissedOpportunity

2. Family medicine has gotten more complex.
This is indisputable but this is true across ALL of medicine.
There is a *continuum* of care & complexity is everywhere.
And the complexity doesn't require a physician solution, it demands a system solution. 3/9

I read this thread with sadness, but not surprise. I've heard so many similarly disheartening stories in recent months from all corners of this province.
I feel like a broken record but it's not about money. It's about broken people, a broken system, and broken leadership.

It’s challenging for several reasons
1. Those tasked with decision making power are rarely interested in listening to front liners (work as imagined mismatch w/ work as done)
2. Clinical priorities don’t align w/ political priorities
3. The front line crew is tired. Too tired.
