The #nfrsabigbikechallenge blog - Tuesday 19th September - by Lady B. ‘After a days rest, it was time to continue our amazing adventure with a short leg from @Glos_Police Waterwells, being seen off by Rod Hansen, @ChiefGlosPolice our @opccglos Chris Nelson, @GlosPolDogs and @GlosHorsePol . Our driver was committee member Neil, & we were kept company by our two ambassadors @DrDawnHarper and international rugby player @joesimpson9 , as well as Adey and Shane, dog handlers from Glos. Police. It was a very windy day, with huge gusts, and heavy rain in places, but the fun factor was high. We stopped off at beautiful @TewkesAbbey to have a quick pic. We then dropped in to Tewkesbury Garden Centre who kindly provided hot coffee. Very welcome! On to @WMerciaPolice HQ where we were greeted with a wonderful reception of staff, retired & serving police dogs from @K999Cops and Chief Constable @CCPippaMills - national lead for police dogs. We had a fantastic display of police dog work, with Joe bravely ‘taking a bite’! A wonderful lunch, and refreshments followed, along with the slightly tricky news that our camper van had developed a glitch and needed to return home for repairs. Incredibly grateful to the team at West Mercia, who kindly housed the bikes overnight while we found a solution. We loved our visit, as well as the opportunity to meet with serving officers and their fantastic dogs, all beautifully recorded as ever by Tom from @CotswoldTV . No adventure comes without problems, and the home team rose to the occasion and sorted it.. Thank you to everyone who pitched is so quickly to help us out. Onwards and upwards!!’ gofund.me/0bf17d9f #cycling #cyclinglife #charity #charityevent #biking #bikelife #bike #police #policedog #support #challenge #gloucestershire #kindness
