‼️ The git, curl and python3 in macOS still trust compromised eMudhra certificates, 11 days after Apple was told. Anyone can recover their keys, so an attacker on your network could pose as GitHub and feed you code. Researchers say macOS 27.2 even wiped fixes applied by hand.

‼️ Critical UEFI Firmware Flaw Could Expose Millions of Servers to Pre-Boot Code Execution Details: cybersecuritynews.com/uefi-f… A critical bug in open-source EDK II firmware lets a remote attacker run code on a machine before the operating system starts. The flaw is tracked as CVE-2026-97631. It sits in the network boot (PXE) driver and received a CVSS v4 score of 9.5. The advisory lists the NetworkPkg package in EDK II master as of September 14, 2026. EDK II is the reference code that many firmware makers use to build UEFI firmware, so the bug can reach servers, desktops, and laptops that boot over a network. The advisory page still says “Not patched currently,” yet a fix has already been merged into the public code. Vendors must now ship that fix in their own firmware updates, which usually takes much longer. #cybersecuritynews

This is why people hate greedy, unethical @Microsoft. They’ve just installed an update on the computer of every user of Mac @Office 2021 that bricks Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc. We all have perpetual licences for Office 2021 but apparently Microsoft decided it was time to try to make everyone pay them money, even though the licence was supposed to be a one-off purchase. After some trial and error, this fix worked for me – posting here for anyone having the same problem: 1. Delete the Office apps (Word etc.) from the Applications folder 2. Download and run the Microsoft licence removal tool: go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?lin… 3. Download and install the version of Office for Mac from 6th October 2026: learn.microsoft.com/en-us/of… 4. Enter your original licence code for Office to activate it 5. In the Finder, go to Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > Microsoft and delete the MAU2.0 folder 6. Open Word, then go to the Word menu, then About Microsoft Word and check that it shows your licence 7. Still in Word, go to the Help menu, and make sure that the Check for updates option isn’t there 8. Don’t update Office for Mac and it should keep working – you need to keep updates off or Microsoft will install an update that bricks Office all over again What a waste of time.

‼️ Palo Alto Networks, Comcast, D-Link, HP, Canon, Honeywell, GE, Oracle, Siemens, Rockwell, Digi, Lockheed Martin and Boeing use the GoAhead web server, which has been accepting revoked certificates, FoxIO says. Its maker says it runs in hundreds of millions of devices. The critical flaw, CVE-2026-115881, lets a stolen device keep its access where client certificates are checked against a revocation list. FoxIO does not say which products are affected. A second bug, a 2018 typo in GoAhead's Mbed TLS builds, shrinks a 2048-bit encryption number to one byte, leaving 8 possible secrets. Anyone who recorded a TLS 1.2 session could decrypt it, if the connecting app accepts the broken number. Earlier this month, browsers cut off Indian certificate authority eMudhra after one of its private keys turned out to be the number 4. A third bug lets oversized certificate chains through on older LibreSSL builds. GoAhead fixed the first two in version 6.1.1 in August. Proof-of-concept code is public. Any fix for their devices has to come from the 13 firms.

If you've ever wondered why smart TVs are so cheap, this is why. @log4j rooted his Samsung and found an always-on hot mic, automatic content recognition, geolocation, network mapping, ad targeting and user profiling, shared with Samsung's "400 partners". A lot of it can be blocked in <15 min, wrote a basic guide below. What your TV is doing The main culprit is ACR (automatic content recognition). Your TV screenshots what's on screen, fingerprints it, and sends it home to build your ad profile. Samsung does it every 500ms, LG every 10ms [1]. What is insane: it happens on connected devices too. Plug in your laptop, your console, your work machine, and your TV can fingerprint that via HDMI [1]. He also found that if your Samsung doesn't have a mic, it'll look for one from a connected soundbar or bluetooth device. teapawt.net/log4j/status/211376224… It's on by default, and you likely agreed to it on the setup screen you clicked through in 10 seconds. Step 1: Turn off ACR Samsung: Terms & Privacy → Viewing Information Services LG: Live Plus Vizio: Viewing Data Roku: "Use info from TV inputs" Sony/Google TV: Samba Interactive TV Menus vary by model, but those are the names to look for. While you're in there, opt out of interest-based ads, reset your advertising ID, decline every optional privacy agreement, turn off voice recognition, and delete apps you never open. Step 2: Give smart devices their own network Put the TV, cameras, speakers and vacuum on your router's guest/IoT network. The logic is simple: these devices rarely get patched. If one gets compromised (getting drastically more frequent with AI), it shouldn't be able to see your other devices or home network. Step 3: Block trackers for the whole house with DNS-level filtering NextDNS (cloud-based) is easy and has a solid free plan. Pi-hole is a little bit more work if you prefer self hosting. For simplicity we'll focus on the former. 1. Sign up at nextdns.io (free tier is plenty) 2. Privacy tab: add a blocklist (OISD is a good bet) and turn on Native Tracking Protection for Samsung, LG, Roku, Amazon (see attached image) 3. Setup tab: copy your endpoint 4. Paste it into your router's DNS settings as DNS-over-HTTPS/TLS (or use the IPs + "Link IP" if your router only does plain DNS) 5. Bonus: block outbound port 53 except to your router. Some devices hardcode their own DNS to get around you Then open the NextDNS logs and watch how often your TV phones home. It's eye-opening. If an app or update breaks, find the domain in the logs and allowlist it. Why they do this TV prices are down 97% since 2000 [2]. Most of that is better manufacturing and brutal competition. But once margins on the hardware hit zero, the cost moved to you. In Q3 2024, Vizio lost $6.7M selling TVs and made $115.8M in gross profit from ads and viewing data [3]. They've said on earnings calls that they keep TV prices low to grow the audience they sell to advertisers. Walmart bought them in 2024. This isn't a conspiracy theory either. Vizio paid $2.2M to the FTC in 2017 for tracking 11 million TVs without consent. Last December, Texas sued Samsung, LG, Sony, Hisense and TCL over ACR. Samsung and LG have since agreed to stop collecting that data without explicit consent [4]. TL;DR 1. ACR off 2. Ads + voice off 3. Smart devices on their own network 4. NextDNS filtering on the router Sources: [1] ACR study: arxiv.org/abs/2409.06203 [2] Cost of US consumer goods: aei.org/economics/chart-of-t… [3] Vizio Q3 2024: sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/… [4] Texas v. ‼️ A bug bounty hunter says they rooted their 2025 Samsung TV with zero-days and found an AI model tracking what they watch and the ads they skip. The TV also takes screenshots, categorises audio and can tap a soundbar's mic, they say. Then OpenAI banned them for "Cyber Abuse".

El historial de versiones del documento. 214 revisiones. Tampoco. No denuncié a nadie.

WTF, $3000 Samsung TV has an always-on mic, automatic content recognition, geo tracking, network mapping, and ships your data to Samsung + 400 partners. Bro Rooted a brand-new 2025 Samsung TV after noticing absurdly targeted ads. Firmware was locked down, so zero-days it was. Got a root shell. then found: always-on voice service, ACR, geo, full telemetry pipeline, and four separate DRM systems. This isn’t a bug, It’s the product bro.
