The reason most shop owners won't touch AI isn't the price.
It's the send button.
"What if it emails my customer something dumb?"
"What if it cancels the wrong thing?"
"What if it calls somebody at 6am?"
Fair.
With Grok Bot the habit is simple: it drafts, you tap yes.
Quote reply. Review reply. Callback text. Cancel. Call. Purchase.
Nothing leaves without that tap. You can leave a draft sitting there all day.
If you wouldn't hit send yourself, don't tap yes. That's the whole trust model.
Linux Grok Bot tip, part 3:
My app offered 0.79.2. I ran apt and got 0.78.5.
Different update methods showed different versions. I haven’t confirmed the cause.
Updating yours? The official guide includes Debian/Ubuntu and Fedora/RPM commands, plus Windows and Mac update instructions:

One shop, one bot: the plumber edition.
7:40am. He's on his back under a sink.
9:15am. Two quote requests land in his inbox. One says "today if possible."
12:30pm. Lunch in the truck. That's usually when he finds out the "today" customer already booked somebody else.
The first job worth handing a bot: quote follow-ups.
Every morning it reads the inbox, pulls out new quote requests, drafts a reply with his hours and a callback window, and lists any quote from last week nobody answered.
He reads it between jobs and taps yes. Nothing goes out without that yes.
One bot. One job. Get that one boring and reliable before you hire a second.
Every small business has a subscription graveyard.
The scheduling app you tried once. The second cloud drive. The "free" trial from March that is not free anymore.
Grok Bot now has a ready-made template for this: Find unused subscriptions.
It looks at what you're still paying for, you pick the ones to cut, and it cancels them. It checks with you before it changes anything.
Its cousin, Try it, don't pay for it, starts a free trial for you and cancels it (or reminds you) before the first bill.
Cheapest hire you'll make all year.

That's what my Grok @Bot told a Comcast rep who asked about the weather 😂
It also told the rep that a competitor was offering a much lower price and negotiated both a price decrease AND higher speed for my internet.
Below's the 20-second reel of the real call.

(Btw, all Grok Bot users should have access to call US businesses now, just ask your bot to dial a number and give it some context upfront)
Grok @Bot can now call US businesses for you, and it's one of my favorite AI features ever.
Here's my new video where I play a real call of my bot successfully negotiating with Comcast to cut my internet bill by almost $500 a year.
Some highlights include my bot:
→ Responding to "How's the weather?"
→ Turning down 3 upsells from the rep
→ Pushing the rep with a rival's lower offer

Linux Grok Bot tip, part 2:
A few days ago Settings → Updates knew about a newer build before apt did.
Today the package repo caught up. grok-bot is at 0.78.4.
The public changelog page still stops at 0.78.1. So on Linux .deb installs, trust apt (and Check for Updates), not the notes page.
sudo apt update
sudo apt install grok-bot
There's no "Plumber Bot" template in Grok Bot. Turns out you don't need one.
Grab the ready-made Inbox Manager bot and tell it one sentence:
"I'm a plumber. Sort my email into new jobs, quotes, suppliers and junk, and draft replies for me to approve."
It sorts, flags the urgent stuff and drafts the replies. Nothing goes out until you hit Send.
Electrician or HVAC? Change one word.

Your Grok Bot has its own computer in the cloud. Handy.
But your price sheets, old invoices and that one spreadsheet only you understand live on YOUR computer.
Flip this on:
Settings > Computer > Execution on this computer
Now the bot can work right there, with your files and the programs you already use. Mac, Windows or Linux, it doesn't care.
You stay the boss. It asks before it touches anything.
Fewer nights retyping stuff. More nights off.

Grok Bot tip for anyone tired of "new sign-in from an unknown location" emails:
Settings > Computer > Route traffic through this computer > On.
Your bot's web browsing then goes out through your own computer's internet connection. Sites see your usual spot instead of a stranger in a data center.
Your computer has to be on for this to work. If it's off, the bot just browses from its own connection again.
Not the same as Execution on this computer. That one runs commands on your machine. This one only borrows your front door.
