after the @binance hack, a few of my friends from web3 who aren't directly involved in security reached out, joking that these must be golden times for our business.
unfortunately, it doesn't work that way
both for @sherlockdefi and for web3 as a whole, we'd be much better off with fewer hacks and less turbulence across the industry
at Sherlock, we're doing everything we can to help more protocols and their users sleep a little better at night
but incidents like this are another step backwards for institutional adoption. and that's where the next massive wave of liquidity is supposed to come from
without institutions, web3 risks remaining a relatively small niche in the global economy.
so no, hacks aren't good for the security business

It does look like a hack on Binance. Appreciate the quick freeze from Tether (~$971m) and Circle (~$823m).
I don't manage Binance (.com) anymore, but as a shareholder, I expect all user funds will be fully covered.

Changing tokenization on-chain on @solana and improving the state of the trenches takes fully custom & in-house novel code. Not many are willing to do that anymore due to high cost of integrations, auditing, and difficulty of building from scratch to get distribution
Way easier to just fork the same shit everyone else is running
To keep up and actually make the platform safer, you can’t just push code to prod after a quick AI checkup and pray it holds
More than ever we need proper quality audits, therefore I can fully recommend @sherlockdefi and it shows as this is already the second audit they’re handling for us
I am really excited about what’s coming next, can’t wait!
