Thoroughbred 360 podcast will land tomorrow team I’ve been away “getting it done” ✔️ A personal goal I have had since I was a teenager, and turning 4️⃣0️⃣ pushed me into action. I’m still trying to understand my “why” But on the journey over the last 12 months I have learned: 👨‍🔬 expert input into your preparation saves a lot of time & pain (huge thanks to Surfers Paradise Triathlon Club) 💪 discipline around putting in the work overcomes all obstacles 🤝 training in company makes a lot of the work feel more like play 👩 having the will is half the battle to getting it done, having a supportive wife @KentNatasha & family is the other half 🏊‍♂️ I found a love for swimming in open water which many fear most leading in 🚲 cycling is a strength of mine, a base from uni that held up well many years later 🏃 running pain free is possible. The shin splints I battled since High School wasn’t from running, it was from running too fast, too quickly without the lower leg strength & foundation. Running slower allowed me to run faster, longer, and I raced & pulled up pain free. Game changer ⛴️ this is an incredibly well run event, the town of Port Macquarie was a triathlon town for the weekend and the support from locals & visitors alike was special 🫡 this is an event for anyone who puts their mind to it. So much respect for all the people completing the course from 7hrs to 17hrs. Incredible 🥲 there is so much joy in seeing others accomplish their own finishes/goals. Just as much as your own, and especially my SPTC team mates Glad I can finally say, 🦾 I AM AN IRONMAN 🦾
