Had this conversation with a high school right handed pitcher. He asked what he would have to do to sign with a P5 out of high school and have a chance to pitch as a freshman. Option A Pitch 90-95 (not touch, but actually pitch 90-95). Throw close to 70% strikes. A plus secondary pitch thrown for strikes with command. An average third pitch thrown for strikes with command. Be able to control the running game and field position. Those things would also make option A, a very good draft prospect. Players that are deciding between signing a pro contract and attending school are the players that have the highest percent chance to actually pitch as a freshman. Or Option B Pitch upper 8's with plus control, plus command, plus moxie, plus feel and an uncanny knack to add and subtract. Control the running game and field position. Option A and Option B Should absolutely dominate high school and travel ball competition. P5 schools are recruiting experienced mid major and non P5 D1 pitchers out of the portal. They're also recruiting the best of the best juco pitchers. They don't need or want freshman development projects.

When the most talented player on the team is the most reliable and dependable. Championship culture is attainable.

Your least talented player will magnify the strengths of your culture. Your most talented player will expose the weaknesses of your culture. Get It? Real baseball folks will understand this.

Real players want the unfiltered truth all the time. and They do not need glitz glamour or vanity to run through the wall.

Ask a coach which player on his team he would want to hire as a future assistant or administrator. His answer will rarely be the most talented player on the team.

Pitchers-want to throw 90? Be able to long toss 300 ft! Want to throw 97? 360 ft is the goal. "Bingo 👍. In 30 years of doing it, you can pretty much take it to the bank - 300 feet = 90mph (of course body types, age, dna matter too, but man, that’s been really consistent)" Alan Jaeger

Teaching hitters to swing down-No Teaching hitters to swing up-No Teaching hitters how to get on and match plane-Yes

This is intelligence.

Not even arguable.

The overwhelming majority of players belong in junior colleges for an array of reasons.

The grass is always greener over there if you are not watering it where you are.

Recommending kids to college coaches is becoming more and more difficult for credible coaches. The truth about reliability dependability and toughness are required. A lot of kids are raised to believe they are entitled to do whatever whenever and however they want. When the stars are not aligned their parents allow and even encourage them to pull the chute. A lot are conditioned to start thinking about the portal as soon as they get on a college campus. They find reasons not to like it. Instead of being conditioned to fight their ass off and make it work. They make every excuse in the book. The team is not good enough. The coaches are not good enough. The facilities are not good enough. The glitz and glamour is not good enough. The coaches do not know what they are talking about. The truth is. The player is not tough enough and cowards down with even an ounce of adversity. Because his parents have taught him that he deserves things he has not earned. Almost every college freshman athlete that is away from home wants to quit at some point during the fall. The soft entitled kids buddy up and destroy each other mentally. The tough kids that have been raised void of entitlement call home and their parents tell them they are not leaving and to toughen the f-ck up.

Think about where this country would be in terms of free speech if Elon Musk did not buy Twitter. I hope we are saying the same about the Brewers winning the world series and baseball. Hopefully a lot of organizations get their train back on the tracks with basic fundamentals and junk yard dog competitors.

Agree or Disagree? Simple Hitting. Getting on plane requires the barrel separating slightly under the ball and working slight up. Although. Strikes at the top of the strike zone require a different swing. Hitters. You want to think about swinging slightly down on the ball up in the zone.

Simple Hitting. Why do more amateur hitters not look like this from the waist down? Because it requires work to get into their legs. It is easy to straight back leg it. It is not easy to sink into the legs and a lot of gurus do not understand how to teach it. Elite hitters get on plane with their legs.
