The first quality I look out for in a leader is now EMPATHY. Competence character and capacity then follow
My Visit to the Nigerian Air Force Facility Further to my message yesterday, I visited the Nigerian Air Force facility in Abuja today to formally sign the condolence register following the unfortunate aircraft crash. The visit gave me another opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices made daily by the men and women of our Armed Forces and other security agencies in the line of duty. These courageous Nigerians put their lives on the line to defend our nation and protect our people. We must never take their service and sacrifice for granted. I extend my deepest condolences to the Nigerian Air Force and to the families, colleagues, and loved ones of those who lost their lives. May God grant eternal rest to the departed and give their families the strength and fortitude to bear this painful loss. May God continue to protect all those who serve our country. -PO

WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!! This is a Commander in Chief in waiting. Peter Obi is highly presidential; the cap actually fits. Tinubu did not visit Ondo State. He did not visit Yelwata in Benue. He went to Jos, & stopped at the airport. Nigeria is probably the only place without any type of love or empathy; where a disaster strikes, & the president fails to visit the site or the families of the bereaved to provide closure. Presidential love & empathy ended in 2015. The president of Nigeria is not busy; he has too much time on his hands to gallivant, sleep, & watch cartoons. You have a Paul Biya in France; a vegetable— another absentee president. While this gesture from Okwute is irregular in Nigeria, it is highly presidential. BAT has never attended any funeral held in honor of Nigerian service personnel who died in active duty. He missed the burials of Generals Oseni O. Braimah & Musa Uba. Donald Trump wouldn’t do that; in fact, he would be front & center. Other presidents around the world hold media chats & visit troubled states. George Bush was on the ground in New Orleans in 2005 to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina. He made multiple trips to the South immediately following the storm, & during subsequent anniversaries. Bush was also there after 9/11. He visited Ground Zero three days later on September 14, 2001. During his first term (2017–2021), Donald Trump presided over several major & devastating hurricanes. He visited Texas immediately after Hurricane Harvey made landfall in 2017, & traveled to Corpus Christi & Austin four days later. Trump followed this up with a second trip to Houston on September 2, 2017. He was in Florida after Hurricane Irma struck. He was in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria made landfall as well. Trump would have been the first to visit bereaved Air Force families. He would have marshaled the entire U.S military to their plight. Presidents who are presidential are committed to nation-building. They try to give hope & reassurances to the people after each disaster. So, when people ask, “What will Peter Obi do differently?”, can you not see that the man is presidential? Although Bola Tinubu is the one presiding, Okwute is the one Nigerians actually look up to. And where is Bola? Where is he? If Nigeria lay on tectonic plates where solar flares, tsunamis, wildfires, typhoons, winter storms, volcanoes, hurricanes, & earthquakes were active, your president would abandon you for France. Bayo Onanuga will tweet from Paris. Can you see the job of a Commander-in-Chief?

Good morning 🌿💦 May your morning flow gently, like water finding its way down the mountain. No rush. No noise. Just peace, fresh air, and a beautiful reminder that nature has its own way of saying: breathe… and begin again. 🌊☀️ Have a blessed morning. 🙏🏾

“Any Igbo man supporting this APC government is a w!ck£d Igbo man. When it comes to politics in Igbo land, in the last 40 years, apart from late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, no other Igbo man has done what Peter Obi has done. Y’all should know that without you people, Obi will still win.” — Isaac Fayose
