Cloudflare's AI gateway is underrated.
AI gateway is good for individuals because you get a single API interface and a single bill for *all* models. You can be promiscuous in switching from GPT to Claude to Grok to Gemini, plus all the generative multimedia models, and the open-weight models too, like Kimi and GLM. Switching is easy, so comparing model performance and capabilities is easy. You change one line of code to switch models, and you don't have to sign up for any of the providers or manage API keys.
AI gateway is good for enterprises, because you can govern which models your team has access to, set spend limits, track individual usage, etc. Give your teammates AI superpowers without letting all hell break loose. We use it internally at Cloudflare to safely manage AI access for ~5000 employees.
AI gateway is good for everyone, because you get better observability, better security, better logging, and unified billing for all your AI usage. And the product keeps improving, with more new hotness coming very soon...

The middle section where @dillon_mulroy talks about a 12 hour incident and getting to spend time with coworkers / senior engineers are worker longer by themselves due to AI / being remote really hits home.
I think I miss pair programming
The Next Token Ep 03 - "I'm Tired of the Uncertainty of Where This Is Going"
@dillon_mulroy , @RhysSullivan , and @threepointone discuss burnout, Claudeisms sneaking into regular speech, chip butties, how to watch movies, and what brings us joy.

Nodding along, relaxing in bed watching this at 1x speed and @threepointone says, "Am I painting the brush strokes or using a remote and watching someone paint on TV?"
Now I'm wondering if I should ditch my laptop and work solely from my couch with my TV across the room.

I’m exploring the mental health effects of AI coding. This is a super quick (blazing fast), anonymous survey.
Please fill out and share so that the responses will be well rounded.

Watching (instead of listening) to @NextTokenShow and just noticed the art from Into the Spider verse @threepointone has. Love it. Knew you were a man of good taste, this just confirms it.

Quickly becoming my favorite podcast.
New Episode 02 - “I’ve Never Seen a Model Say ‘This File Is Getting Too Big'’We settle the model-access bet.
We talk about how the labs talk to us, plus extend an open invite for OpenAI, Anthropic, SpaceX, and Thinking Machines to come on the show and be specific about their best-case scenarios about how AI makes the world better. Thinking Machines ships an American open-weight model.

ok, 2 things I'm convinced of
- every app will have a so called "harness"
- "agent to agent" will likely just be english, unless someone has a REST level insight. protocols don't make a lot of sense here.

we were apprehensive, but the reception to this has been really good. a theory I'm repeating so many times to anyone in earshot; people are _desperate_ to hear from people on the ground doing actual work, so taking 3 people who don't have the time to do a podcast to make a podcast is probably a good move. thanks for listening! we're recording the next episode at AIE WF tomorrow.
