Sam Altman should not be allowed to buy RAM and GPUs. Everyday people would benefit from normal prices
NEW: Sam Altman says it’s “quite terrible” for everyday people to own RAM, arguing it belongs in data centers.

Big Tech’s dream: you own nothing, rent everything, and they decide what’s “best” for you. RAM is the latest target, but they already control your software, your data & your choices. Open source + privacy-respecting services are how you take them back.

The person behind the global RAM shortage is now criticizing users for keeping memory in their own laptops instead of making it available to him.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman thinks it's "terrible" for people to have RAM in their computers rather than in a data center, as the scarcity of memory caused by the AI boom continues to drive up costs. bit.ly/47LJ09d

Accidentally tap a tweet, share its link, bookmark it, reply or retweet. Suddenly, your feed changes. The algorithm takes every interaction as a signal and floods you with more of what you engaged with, even when you never asked for it.
Don't blame X algorithm. Blame your content.

This was incredibly useful! Really appreciate the time and effort that went into creating this web app, while making it so easily accessible is a game changer.
If you're from/have a vote in Bengaluru in any district, check out eci-lookup.vercel.app I made it for a super easy look up by your voter-id instead of having to download 40 PDFs after having to know your district and assembly constituency etc.etc . 😊 Will do more soon.

Too young!

2FAS vs. Big Tech: 2FA Privacy Edition Your authenticator is part of your security setup. But what does it know about you? What data does it collect? Is it linked to you? Does your 2FA app really need it? Choose an authenticator app that protects both your accounts and your privacy. #2FAS #CybersecurityAwarenessMonth #opensource

The word “cheat” has become so accepted via the expression ‘cheat day’ in dieting that few notice its actual meaning and instead justify it with personal reasoning.

Hello @1Password, is there no option to bypass the AI features in the app? This represents a fivefold increase. I suppose I would need to switch to a subscription with a credit card through the website.
Replying to @ksg91
I have not encountered a message like this before, although the App Store subscriptions show a different amount. How do you subscribe to @1Password, since card billing might approach ₹3500 for India pricing based on the $35 listed on the site?

Google might have pulled a prank on its Pro users. If you got Google AI Pro through: - Pixel purchase - Jio bundle - Student offer You will not be able to access Gemini 4 Argon in Antigravity. And the catch? You apparently can't switch to a regular paid Pro subscription with the same account until your existing offer expires. 2 questions for Google: 1. If Pro is Pro, why are users on these offers excluded from features advertised to paid Pro users? 2. How can existing users upgrade to paid Pro without waiting a year? This is ridiculous.

Been seeing a lot of hot takes on how the new TRAI order to show caller ID by default will be end of apps like Truecaller. If that actually happens, how will we be alerted to know a fraud is calling? It'd just display the name of this fraud and not that he's a fraud.
