Polymarket traders have realized that sensationalism inaccurately skews market prices. One trader even turned $286 to $1M by ‘reversing stupidity.'
Remember, it's the "wisdom of the crowd" when prediction markets get it right, and the "madness of crowds" when they get it wrong.
We've talked before about how anchoring bias, longshot bias, and desirability bias can affect individual traders, but "sensationalism bias" skews entire markets irrationally.
Data analysis on Polymarket accuracy by @alexmccullaaa demonstrates this– most markets have historically overpriced the YES outcome.
