pokemon heartgold is now fully decompiled 🥳 took about a month and ~$56k at api prices to decompile all 4.1mb of compiled code

this is such an ignorant take
Who’s going to tell the old school coders that there’s going to be nothing but vibe coding in like 6 months. All companies will need are people who can describe what they want properly, and someone to look it over. These tweets that make vibe coding seem stupid, are naive.

Successful hacking and reverse engineering is honestly over of the best highs ever. I bet this guy was stoked.
A Red Hat engineer used Claude Code to reverse-engineer Windows hardware support and bring it to Linux. Christian Schaller bought a film scanner, only to discover its newer chipset didn’t work on Linux. After months of failed attempts, he gave Claude access to a Windows virtual machine running the manufacturer’s driver. Claude analyzed the USB traffic to help reproduce the scanner’s behavior on Linux. Within hours, Schaller had his first recognizable scan. He then used a similar approach to fix problems with his ThinkPad’s camera, producing patches for the Linux kernel and libcamera. The scanner driver remains a proof of concept, and the camera fixes are going through submission and review. He also released hw-harness so other developers can try this with their own hardware. Every result was checked on the actual devices. Full story here: blogs.gnome.org/uraeus/2026/…

Huge forehead. Receding hairline. Thinning of hair on temples bilaterally. Lol.
Replying to @Pirat_Nation
Why would you TRUST developers at this point? Gamers wake up, the industry hate you and who you are! STOP PRE-ORDERING GAMES, gate keep harder!

lol
IDA Pro is going to fall victim to itself eventually: AI reverse engineering will decompile it like just happened to Photoshop.

There was a period of time where the Halo CE armor set cost more than actually just buying Halo CE on steam
